Don’t be afraid to engineer and build stuff yourself. I do it all the time. I built my own roll off trailer and am gradually building bins. Made lots of changes as i built it but you get great satisfaction out of building things yourself. 👍

I thought about trying to make something similar. In the end I just bought a tarp system and it’s so worth the money. What I regret was not getting it sooner.

Years ago I made something like this for a dump trailer to use for Hurricane Andrew cleanup. Made it from electrical conduit, cable, and a winch. Somewhere there is a VHS tape of us working that may show it.

I work for OKC Tarp and Supply we have little rubber bumpers to keep your bars from getting damaged when they do fall. About 5$ a piece.

Just put a stop ontop of the fender so the tarp doesn't fall. And those strap brackets you used i think you can lock those aswel but you can always put the tarp down when you are rolling around without a dumpster and forget the heavy springs those just put too much tension in the whole system and please try again this was a really fun episode man

EMT conduit is steel. Aluminized steel is the same thing as galvanized steel except they use an aluminum coating instead of zink. It's lighter because it's thinner.

I don't know if would have been cheaper but chainlink fence rails would it work too, can use 1 5/8" on the fenders and insert 1 3/8" on it so you can extend or retract for shorter cans.

You could use gears like the tarp roller to stop the poles from falling. It would catch the teeth.

U should get lock washers under the nuts and u won't need 2 nuts on there and it will look a little cleaner if u care or not just wanted to try and help
