If you want to tighten up the groups…add the wood stock from PYA “IF” they have any left. I waited a year for mine for 140-150$ don’t remember honestly but close that and it made a big difference in over all tone of the gun and accuracy. It is quieter by my ear and steadier on the bench. Maybe a pound heavier but that doesn’t bother me at all. Thanks for the get away on a rainy day y’all. Stay blessed and keep shooting! BTW please get a 3D printed barrel band from Buck Rail. Yikes, I forgot to add one other thing if you go with the Buck Rail kit. You will need to get an adapter with a picatinny rail to attach to the lower air tank for your bipod. I found something on Amazon that would attach to the lower tank with something that resembles a scope mount...it just had a picatinny attached to the bottom. So I installed this on the lower air tank and then attached my bipod to that picatinny. All this seems like quite a bit of work, but it was really fun tinkering and really rewarding once it fixed the POI shifts.

Hi Cruz Outdoors, I've watched several of your videos and you both do a great job. I just now caught the comment about the left/right point of impact shift on your Avenger. I know you have moved on to better guns and I don't know if you still have your avenger, but I will offer a solution for the POI shifts. The barrel band you have (from the factory) surrounds the barrel shroud, the upper air tank and the lower air tank. It is also connected to your forearm stock which has the bipod screwed to it. Every time you deploy and fold up your bipod and every time you bump or nudge the bipod, you cause the barrel band to rotate the barrel shroud around the upper air tank. The result is significant POI shifts. To fix this, first move this factory barrel band forward so that it is no longer connected to the forearm stock and the lower air tank. It will just wrap around the upper tank and barrel shroud. Next go to Terminador Industries and purchase the Super Muzzle Barrel Band and attach it near the muzzle, but of course not over the fitting that accesses your fill probe. You have now solidly locked the barrel shroud to the upper air tank (which is very solid) and isolated the factory barrel band from the bipod and the forearm stock. This will fix the POI shifts. A second really cool thing to do with the Avenger is to purchase the Tactical Kit from Buck Rail, but do not buy the forearm piece as part of the kit. Get the Grip Adapter and the Adjustable Stock ( which has the extension tube and adjustable Magpul Stock). You will still want to move your factory barrel band off the lower air tube and you will still want to purchase the Super Muzzle Barrel Band from Terminador. This second option is really cool and it will turn your Avenger into an MOA shooter every time you take it out to the range or on a hunt. I consistently get 1" groups in the 90 - 100 yard+ range with this configuration. This configuration makes your budget PCP shoot as accurately as guns that are much more expensive.

Nice shooting! Those pellets are catching a lot of wind along the way, especially considering how far above ground they are traveling. At the target you can see the dust signature moving rapidly to the right. Thanks for sharing!

I bought a barrel band for my Avenger. I would have it sighted in and lean it against the wall and zero would move. Band solved that problem. That was good shooting from both of you. I haven't shot past 70 yards with mine.

Just physics, but the larger calibers carry their energy and FPS farther. If your avenger was in .25, your groups would be even smaller at the longer distances.

as the reg pressure was dropping so was the fps by a little i own this avenger and once the guns down to 3k psi my reg drops by a little you were experiencing increased rotations from your barrels rifling due to the lower fps as you shot the pressure lower and lower which is why it started going more and more to the right as you shot.

Okay you are shooting a 22 cal at 200 yards that is 182 meters . Now lets look at the ballistics of the ammo you going to be shooting and what kind of damage it will do at 200 yards or 182 meters . And here we go 1. With a Varmint Knockers 22 Cal at 32.80 gr also you are "dieseling" too wow I guess with a 22 cal with a 32.80 gr slug you need to right ? With the Air Venturi the max FPS is at 1100 and we all know that with a 32.80 gr slug you are not going to get that you might be getting 900 or maybe 915 the max in FPS and that is including dieseling .Okay let's do the math at 200 yards or 182 meters your velocity of that slug would be right around 34.92 FPS at 200 yards or 182 meters and at that distance you would be very very lucky to kill a coyote . My bet that you would not , However you might be able to get something smaller like a rabbit if that and if the wind or better yet no wind at that distance .Now to me and this is my opinion This is not " Safe " to do once that slug leaves that barrel it's only pushing out that slug at 60.97 FPS and to me and again my opinion is " Not Safe " not saying it can't be done I just don't think it's SAFE . Not with a 22 cal with a 32.80 gr slug and dieseling to boot .

Because it doesn't have a regulator so the FPS changes and lowers with every shot. Cheap air rifles like these are Not worth spending money on. Western Rattler .357 or LCS AIR ARMS SK-19 Pellet on pellet. Every time. Because they have the tech so the FPS Don't change with every shot. Plus they are lighter more powerful, and you can get up to 75 shots per fill on the Ratter.357 and 100shots per fill on the .308. Sidewinder you get 120 per fill on lower FPE settings, and 18 at max. I almost bought a gauntlet .308 but the trigger sucks, and the lack of Regulator, makes the power curve suck so you have tons of fliers. To be expected with cheap air-rifles.

Like like both rifles. This the avenger is more tunable. I own a gen 1 Gauntlet in .25 and an Avenger in .177. also you were using a much lighter weight slug you had no chance against his 50 grain slugs at 200. make him shoot your gun and i bet he misses just about as much. i get that you guys were comparing the two guns and not the shooters but yeah if we are going to play the all about fairness competition game that had to be said.
