2000-2005 Impala (8th Gen) Hazzard Switch Replacement **BRAKE LIGHTS NOT WORKING FIX**

The weather outside is... Unpleasent!! Therefore I will not be recording any new material until this Spring. In the meantime, enjoy this flashback to 2019 when I owned a 2004 8th Gen Impala. The issue the car was having was when you depressed the brake pedal the CHMSL lit up, but the 2 outer lights did not. Also when you switched on the hazzards, only the fronts flashed.
I swung over to O'Reilly's to purchase a new hazzard warning switch. They had 2 options: A Dorman unit with a 3 year warranty for $70, or a Novita unit with a 1 year warranty for $40. I chose the latter.
The part is very easy to change out, and all you need to complete the task is 2 flat-blade screwdrivers.

I have the same car. The turn signals would often not work unless i turned the 4 ways on and off real quick, but they would blink fast. I replaced the 4 way switch and now the turn signals work reliably but they still blink fast. No bulbs are out. The 4 ways blink at normal speed.

Hay my Impala expert...I have a 2009 Impala in the shop this week, and last week, the Battery keeps going dead over night. I replaced the Voltage regulator and I have even higher voltage 15.17 Volts...way to high. so I now have a new Alternator on the way, Me and my wife realy like the impala. nice cars.. Let me know if you ever came across this problem, thanks..

As far as overcharging goes, there's a sensor that the positive battery cable passes through that measures current draw (called the "battery current sensor.") It's located near the battery, and the sensor is supposed to be placed 4-5 inches from the end of the cable terminal. I would investigate whether the cable is routed through it (I believe it has to be oriented properly) and if the sensor's electrical connector is connected up. Another cause for this sensor to read incorrectly is if there are aftermarket accessories connected up directly to the battery terminal and not run through the sensor. I was corresponding with someone who was having issues with the battery draining - the verdict was one of the modules (can't remember which one) wasn't going to sleep when it was supposed to and drained the battery.
