looking on KZbin couldn't really find the easiest way of replacing the AC compressor. Lots of people coming from the top and wasting time and making it hard on them self's for replacing a AC compressor. So i figured ill show you how I do it. All you need is 15mm and 13mm socket some extensions and some ratchets and you can get the job done.
So what do you think? Love it ? Hate it? Share your opinion.

I got everything loose and that one on the bottom can be easily done with an angled hear wrench if you turn the wheels to the right all the way. Getting the compressor out however was what stumped me. I'm glad you showed the part where you remove it through the opening the splash guard covers.

You got the hardest bottom bolt out with a flex head gear wrench?
@Yourmomsplacefasuppa
@Yourmomsplacefasuppa 2 жыл бұрын
@@greg6925 turn the wheel to the right and it opens up. An angled gear wrench got it out for me. Of course you can only back it out, you have to leave it in the compressor until you get it free. It was the only thing that could reach it and not get stuck. Last few threads by fingers. I've got callus from this type of work.

I got it out no problem , but the new one will not fit back into that tiny area in the correct rotation . I can only install it with it rotated upside down( as you show in your video upon removal) . and I can not rotate it back into the correct position once it is in there, not enough room. I wish you would have shared a video of how you were able to put it back in ? Did you have to remove that small tube attached to the side of the exhaust manifold ? or did you possibly remove those water hoses just above the compressor ?
@CountryMileGarage

I put it back in the same way I took it out ... in my experience when the area is tight you might have to try it a couple times to get it in place ... thank you for watching

All you need is metric so I'd bring me a set of 3/8 and 1/4 drive sockets, ratchets and a couple of swivels some extensions a wrench set a hammer a pry bar a adjustable wrench and a pick set. Hope this helps and thank you for watching

What's the job of the sensor behind the compressor, mine is running without that plug, thanks
@CountryMileGarage
@CountryMileGarage 2 жыл бұрын
Normally that's a speed sensor lots of aftermarket ac compressors don't have them and if possible swap them from your old one to the new one ... it helps to regulate the temp in your cab a little better
@greg6925
@greg6925 2 жыл бұрын
But it will run without it?
@ItsMeTyScott
@ItsMeTyScott Жыл бұрын
That is not a speed sensor that is 100% for rear AC it's actually for a rear AC so if you got an SUV like a Tahoe or Yukon and it has rear AC on it then you would have a plug-in for that but if not then disregard.

Don't waste your time and money by trying to save $20 or $30 on a painted black 'remanufactured' piece of junk. Always buy a new a/c compressor. They are assembled new in a really clean environment, and the rebuilt ones aren't.
