What does the purple connector labeled 9 do/go to? It's on my old compressor, but not in my new one. Looks like it could swap over to the new compressor.

That “sensor” labeled 10 for the compressor is for the electromagnet that pulls the clutch in for the compressor.. just learned that when the ac went out a couple weeks ago on my wife’s car. It’s possible to replace that instead of the whole compressor. Saves a lot of money

So, if I can hear the magnet 'click' when my mechanic pulls the fuse/plugs the fuse back in and tells me it won't engage the clutch, do I replace the the entire compressor or just the wire?

Greg Bloch I’m just a diyer, if 12v is applied to your ac clutch and nothing happens and an ohm check shows infinite resistance I’m sure it’s the clutch, but if you’re compressor clicks and is turning I would guess it’s the compressor. I would get/borrow a set of ac gauges from an auto parts store and look up a few videos on how to diagnose am ac system

Can the AC compressor leak coolant? I have a small drip that’s getting my belt wet and is squeaking bad and it’s not coming from the water pump? Any suggestions? Thanks
