Just bought a nice, no rust, 04 Suburban Z71. My trusty mechanic is replacing the rear Evap and now I know what he was talking about. Not hard, just time consuming he said and I agree. Just as shown there is oil underneath. I had him inspect it before buying and haven't brought it home yet. Fixing transfer case, dash cluster and oil pick-up seal too. 198 K. Awesome video, Thanks.

Man, the AC on this 06 Escalade I bought last year has been leaking worse and worse. The previous owner put dye in it, and we have looked high and low for the leak, but we haven't looked at the rear evaporator. I didn't think the rear evaps were a common failure point but here we. I think this video just fixed me problem lol. Thanks!

Thank you! My hubby asked me to tear into this while he worked on other parts of the vehicle. Pretty proud of myself that not only did I tear it apart (carefully) but I identified a secondary problem, told a junk yard guy how to tear another one apart so I could get the part I needed and then put it all back together. And it works! Your video was nice and clear and yes, getting that second air flow door back in place was a bugger. Thanks again.

The old Bosch is still with u. I remember u have used those since way back at the dealer. The three pound sledge and the old screwdriver with the broken handle. The only thing better than one super successful KZbin channel, is two super successful KZbin channels. Thank u Brian!! Great job

And the cat claws! I bought the Bosch way back after Brian had recommended it for zipping off the smaller fasteners 👍🏻 And the cat claws too, they're super useful for handyman jobs too.

Definitely the best video on how to disassemble the rear ac box! But here's my issue, this lady hit me right there in the back rear passenger trunk /Ac area! I took apart the panels to get to the ac! I thought the whole thing would be crushed, but it looks intact, but now my concern is the evap part I thinks she crushed that part of it from the way the side quarter panel is pushed in to the point that could be my issue, that part is $250/$500 an to add the icing on the cake ,sorry ass progressive insurance company sided with the lady who hit me, by 80% my fault (nj ain't shit) ,but she hit me in the back trunk area ,but in nj if you make a left turn ,no matter how the accident happened it's your fault! Crazy as f I know!

I have a question for you. Not sure you will get this, but here goes. 2000 F250 sd 4x4 5.4l, has 300K miles. My original cat finally clogged, and when I took it off, there is no O2 sensor(downstream). Have taken to shops a few times for muffler work in the past, and can see where they cut the pipe right the cat. Never noticed till now. Why has it never thrown a code, and with no downstream sensor, could this cause the bad fuel mileage it has had? Can not find the wires where the O2 sensor was. Thanks

I drive my tahoe alone almost 95 % of the time. I decide to cap off the rear a/c tubing and just use the front one. Saved money and the front of the tahoe stays cold still.

BSG! Hey, is there an orifice tube on the rear HVAC? Or a filter screen? If so is it on the high or low side line, and can it be cleaned and reused? Also, is the Expansion valve a recurring problem? And is that included with the EVAP when you buy it? My Front HVAC works great, my rear HVAC EVAP is not cold. I have to have a blockage, either expansion valve, or orifice tube. What do you think?

if it is on similar vehicle the a/c system is tee'd from compressor, so a leak you wouldnt have cold up front, most likely you have a blend motor stuck causing heat instead of cold

I think I would screw things up and break stuff that you can't buy a aftermarket part for and then I would have to go junk yard hunting. that's always my luck although some times I get lucky but not feeling it today even watching you. Thanks

I _hate_ those hidden, push-in fasteners. Removing them correctly feels exactly the same as breaking the damned things... and you don't know until they're broken. And then the specialty ones cost $87 each to replace. I'd much rather just have damned knobs to unscrew the covers.
