Great video. i've never seen a filter that bad either. I agree, it was probably the original.

Thank you, I couldn't believe it! I'm so glad the engine air filter was OK.

You really have to wonder where they were taking that car to be serviced. I change my own Air filters because the dealer always want to rip me off for $65 for a cabin air filter replacement.

I checked my cabin filter in my Rav4 XSE after 4 years of driving. I was quite dirty but very clean compared to this one. I just vacuumed the worst of the dirt and ordered one online which will come in in a few days & I will change it then. I checked the air filter for the engine & it looked just like new even after 4 years (I did check this filter about 18 months ago) I don't drive in dusty areas or in dirt roads....... I'll check it again in a couple years if I still own it as I may trade it in for a new Rav4.

Should the air filter you replaced be a Toyota OEM filter?
@jamesm5689 ай бұрын
Don't really matter in this situation as an air filter is an air filter.

In this case, it appears to be very similar to OEM, I did pick up an OEM Toyota filter after completing this video to compare and it is very similar. Go with what you are comfortable with and what is the most accessible for purchase.

@@throttle-onJohn I always feel safer using the OEM product. Aftermarket quality can be iffy.

@@123Rockchild some of the aftermarket air filters are better than OEM. Many you can buy now have activated charcoal to help with odors as well.
