Miami was better from like 2000-2005. I’m a Canes fan and our last really good team was that year or so. I do enjoy these games most years though. FSU was definitely really good then too.

It was only because of the decline of FSU and Miami that the SEC became the powerhouse conference it is today. All those great high school athletes were hoarded by the Florida schools.... back in the day FSU and Miami bitch slapped any SEC program that got in their way.

I felt bad for Weinke. He had bad breaks in 1998 missing the Fiesta Bowl and 2000 just not getting it done in the Orange Bowl. I thought he would be a solid QB in the NFL, but the Panthers won their first game with him and lost their next 15. Obviously not 100% his fault, but yeah, he just never made it. I feel like every FSU or UF or Miami QB doesn't do well in the NFL. I honestly don't know why. The best might be Testaverde.

This would be the last year that FSU would finish in the Top 5 AP poll. FSU wouldn't finish no higher than 11 in the AP poll with Bobby Bowden as coach. 1987-2000 FSU finished in Top 5, 11-3 during bowl games during that span, 2 NCs one of the best dynasties in CFB History.

@@calebspencer3451 LMFAO. Michigan had 1 shared title in the 1990s, OSU had none. FSU and UF combined for 3 claimed titles, with more (FSU) non-major selectors titles unclaimed. The winner went to the national title game in 1993, 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999 (and 2000). Ohio State/Michigan meant something in the leather helmet era and 2006. Nobody cares about it outside of those two fanbases now. It's just Ohio State smashing Michigan with the odd Michigan win once every decade.

Almost every Florida v Florida State game in the 90s put someone in the National Championship or denied someone from going. It was the most intense era of the rivalry. Ever since the 90s ended, one team has been good while the other team not good then they trade off....never elite at the same time. So the rivalry doesn't matter as much nationally as it once did

People forget that Jesse Palmer wasn’t just a QB but was a pretty darn good QB at Florida. He didn’t have the arm talent of Doug Johnson or Rex Grossman but he handled pressure well and made good decisions.

...The 2013 team was one of the best teams in College Football history. All 22 starters eventually ended up on an NFL roster....Yea we are in a hole right now but to say it was never the same after 2000 is just false...They averaged 51 PPG and only gave up an average of 12 PPG...9 All Americans

2000 Florida State was good but not great ⁉🏈📚🏟FSU's best win in 2000 was the dominating win over Florida..Florida eventually won the SEC Championship in 2000..Anyway, something always felt wrong about the 2000 FSU team..FSU lost some good talent from the 1999 national championship team..FSU went 11-2 in 2000, and both losses happened in Miami, FL..🤔🌇
