So many videos indicate you must pull the fan and shroud.. ridiculous waste of time. Getrdun is pulling the airbox. This video is spot on. fully subbed in one video. Thank you for SHARING. ~Many hands make light work (though Toyota should have put an access hole/grommet for the alternator tension bolt). :D

I have a 2000 4runner, but its a 2.7L, looks similar, wondering if these are the same steps I can follow. My belts are squealing

I don’t have the manual anymore. What do you final torque the bolts to? Just to get an idea.

We tightened according to just the right belt tension, my buddy didn't have his manual either. Not loose, but not super tight. I wish it had spring loaded belt tensioners. If they are a little too loose they will squeal. So that may not be much of help for you.

I think if there's one thing true Toyota makes improvements on their vehicles not ridiculous engineering that requires you to goto the dealership for every little thing something I learned the had way from driving domestics
