2000 Chevrolet Tahoe TPS Issue

people in Florida run their cars until they actually quit, we have no vehicle testing what so ever, not even safety tests. when they bring their cars in for work, it is not uncommon to see over 20 DTCs

Same here. It's common to see many DTC set. They ask. I have this problem, I tell them, they are all related. How much$$$$ That depends on each DTC , you are going to need sensor? Or bad wires? Or both. That cost time And money to fix. O ...never mind

I like that customer explaination of the additional tests running. I fight that battle from time to time. Now I have a good way to warn them the light possibly could come on.

I agree. Never thought that the ECM/PCM suspended tests because the MIL light is on and it's in the TPS in this case. WOW!

Just a little off subject, the 505 CRO Oil System Treatment works, period, end of story. My 2006 Silverado with 235,000 miles on it was burning a quart every 600 miles. Put 1200 since I did the treatment and my oil level is still full. Thanks Bernie.

I actually proved out a TPS sensor pulling down a signal wire by using a check engine light scanner, because the code said "TPS voltage low" every time the sensor was plugged in, but changed to "TPS voltage high" every time the sensor was unplugged. This proves that the TPS is pulling down the voltage using only a $5 check engine light scanner, but this was just a stroke of luck. You typically cannot make 100% diagnoses using only a scanner.

10:10 Gold. Best part of the video IMO. Like a misfire or O2 code suspending a P0420. Makes it tough sometimes. Clients don't know any better, and shops get hammered. This is why I always check for inc mon. BEFORE I continue. Heck, I even check them for oil changes! And to add...I have seen some logic inferred values for scan data. Had one about a year ago give data for it's MAF sensor in OE, but looking at OBD2 pids showed a much different signal.
