I have a 2000 Silverado 2500 its a completely different truck from this and im having trouble finding parts. Becuase its either for a C2500 like this or a silverado 1500. I dont understand why Chevy would have built two different model 3/4 ton pickups for the same year…

Sounds to me like you’ve got an engine misfire there, i’ve got a 96, K2500 with a 350 and 157,000 on it. I bought the truck at around 138,000 on it, before I purchased the truck it was married to a gooseneck cattle trailer for most it’s life and where I’m from just about everywhere you go has 20+ Grade Hills and a lot of back roads. I blew a head gasket at around 154,000 along with a small misfire that started out of the blue, so I pulled both heads and had them magna flux, The valve and seats done along with getting them milled 0.10 thousands, but in that process found my number one cylinder was dead. The compression was good So that told me it wasn’t the bottom end and after I put the heads back on and got her fired up she still had a misfire. I did a little more checking and found out that it turned out to be one of my fuel injectors. Bought a remanufactured one from rock auto for 28$ and stuck it in and The misfire went away. I have use the truck as an every day driver since the work and regularly tow 4 to 8,000+ with it and also use it as a service truck being I am a farmer and a tractor mechanic. I always love to see beautiful old trucks like this still out running around and appreciate guys like you who enjoy owning and taking care of these older trucks. Most don’t give them the light of day anymore with all the new high-tech junk that’s out but if you’re willing to spend a little money and do some work you can get yourself a pretty darn solid truck. Not to say these new diesels aren’t pretty sweet though😂. Hope that helps someone out!

88 was the first year they introduced this body style and it ran mostly until 98 the 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks carried over until 2000. But the factory never offered it in a crew cab short bed configuration until 1999-2000 after the half ton (1/2 ton) trucks went to the NBS body style (99-07) there's a company out of Texas I believe called Centerion that built the C1500 and K1500 in a crew cab short bed but they where known for not having the best frame. And in 95 they updated the grille and interior with a newer design. You should do some more research. These trucks are pretty sought after since they didn't make many.
