Antknee470 where'd you get your lift from? And was it spacers
@mrhupen11 жыл бұрын
You placed the spacers on the bottom of the springs but rusty's website says they ride at the TOP of the springs. Did you do this for any particular reason? This kit is simply a set of 4 spacers positioned on top of the factory coil springs. Since the factory coils are retained, you can be sure this kit has no negative effects on the excellent factory ride characteristics! No bump stops are needed; we have found that they may limit travel more than needed unless you use a significantly larger tire. We recommend a maximum 245 size tire for this kit. The factory shock absorbers are long enough to work with this kit, however we recommend replacing them with Rusty's Hydro Performance Shocks for an better ride and for proper extension travel when the vehicle is used off-road.

In your video for the front and the back you decompress the spring, put the compressor on, then compress the spring all the way back down, that doesn't make any sense. You do the same thing when you're taking the compressor off. You ought to be installing the compressor at the springs most compressed state as well as uninstalling it at its most compressed state, it will save you a good amount of time and trouble.
@FastestIntegra11 жыл бұрын
"You ought to be installing the compressor at the springs most compressed state as well as uninstalling it at its most compressed state." Only if you can fit the spring compressor on when the springs are all the way compressed. Not happing the spring compressor is about a 1/2 inch thick.
@johnpugh8611 жыл бұрын
I think you're completely missing my point. Even at the amount of compression at which you remove the springs, there is still enough space to get the lip of the compressor in and out of the space between the coils. I'm just saying you're making too much work for yourself, not that you're doing anything "wrong." I appreciate that you made these videos, things like this help a lot when guys come asking around on forums about how to install their new lift. Thanks.

can i get this kit in the UK and do you need to change anything else
@xmo5524 жыл бұрын
Yes and no. An adjustable track bar is sometimes recommended.

So you don't have to buy a longer sway bar arm? So I could do this to my 2002 with no problem? ?
@FastestIntegra6 жыл бұрын
You can put this kit on Any WJ No Problems. You dont need to upgrade anything else unless your going to lift it more then 3 or 4 inch's. Even then a good kit should come with everything you need.
@stephenjray19889 жыл бұрын
How come you got more lift than me i my buddy and i both have wj jeeps and we both purchased the same lift as u budget boost and neither one of us got the full 2.5 in front or 2" in rear we only got a little over 1" i contacted the conpany they said they had never herd of that .

@WJ4x4OR8 жыл бұрын
stephenjray1988 you probably got less lift than he did because maybe you took off the issolators. the issolators them selfs are about 1 inch thick

@FastestIntegra10 жыл бұрын
It might be slightly different, but it's close enough. If you can do what I did on my WJ. You can do it to your XJ, Good luck!

does it matter if the spacer goes on top or bottom
@FastestIntegra2 жыл бұрын
Theoretically it should not matter if it's on top or bottom I've been running them on the bottom for years now and it did not affect anything the Jeep drove perfect and four-wheeled awesome

Great video man. I was confused about the coil compressor part though, what was the purpose of that and is it completely necessary? I don't have those specifically would be possible to use any sort of strong clamp??
@FastestIntegra10 жыл бұрын
If you don't compress the coil it will not come out or back in with the new spacers. I would only use a coil/spring compressor. Using any sort of strong clamp can be very dangerous if the compressed coil where to slip out of the clamp.. Check your local part stores they should have specialty tools for rent.

Did you have to align the wheels after?
@quentins56929 жыл бұрын
As with any suspension mods, yes, it is required it be aligned ASAP because it will mess with geometry a little bit.

@JF323048 жыл бұрын
Well, you're not messing the toe in or the camber or tie rods. I don't know why you would need to, I'd like to see the alignment stats before and after to see if it messes with it.
@xmo5524 жыл бұрын
@@JF32304 Actually it does a bit. The axle swings down, the pinion goes up, *caster* changes and that has a slight effect on camber and toe.

I'm trying to figure out why you use such a little Jack if you used a bigger Jack to Jack it up with and a taller jack stand it would be so much easier I put a 3-inch lift on mine didn't have any problem... Then you say put the tire underneath there for safety come on really those jack stands must be shity... I did this I'm a w.k. 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited trail rated... And it did it by myself in four hours... Front and rear..
