Watching you DIY with a smile makes this video fun! I've loved WJ's for years, and installed $100 pucks all the way up to $3k long arm systems. Unless you wanna start chopping up the body, a 2-3" budget boost with a set of 31's is my favorite combo. Looks tough without all the expense and comments about over-compensating for penile deficiencies. Well done.

Hey Dan H, DW here in the deep south. As always, much respect for your time and consideration of covering the bases on your diy zj and wj vids. Its the small things like calling out the wrench and socket sizes along the way, and giving hints and tips to make things easier for the guy or gal, that has never done a lift of any kind. I was told that I would end up having to drop transfer case 1" and purchase extended front end components. Especially, if I used 4 wheel drive. Remember wj guys, FYI, 5.0 x 5.0 lug spacing will fit some JK wheels, while ZJ owners, will have 5.0x4.5 lug pattern and will require spacer /adapters to run all JK wheel/tire takeoffs. BACKSPACING for a example 2016 JKU Wrangler Sahara edition wheel is 6.25 on the wheel so for ZJ owners would need a 2 inch spacer adapter to get the optimal 4.25 inch backspacing to run a rough country 2"-4.5" lift. This is per the techs at rough country. Hope this info helps someone.

The sound coming from that front end sounds like the noise that comes out of the dash of my 2004 WJ every now and then.

@@ProjectDanH , it sounds like a diaphragm vibrating, or like a foghorn.. It will do it for about two seconds with the AC on while going up a hill or accelerating.

Looking at those coil spring isolators I will guess the bushings in the control arms, A-arm, and front diff will need replacing.
@ProjectDanH3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, replaced all the bushings and it drives great!

Take note that when you install these budget boost kits they will stress out all the joints in your steering as well as throw off the angle on your front drive shaft causing the drive shaft rubber seal to tear even faster.

Love your video and your attitude brother my question to you is what size tires and wheels are you running with the new lift? I just bought my WJ and I have the old original wheels and tires.
@ProjectDanH Жыл бұрын
I'm actually looking for a new tire.. I think 245/75R17 would be perfect

Congratulations, your videos are great and I learn a lot, I have a question, because the title of the video says: 2-3-inch jeep grand cherokee, is it 3 inches high in front and 2 in the back?
@ProjectDanH Жыл бұрын
Yes, I believe that's what it means. Either way its a nice lift! lol

Nice video. I probably would have swapped out the bushing too though. Heck, you're already dirty, right? Lazy man's tip: put all of your tools on a sheet of cardboard, when you get done with one side, just drag all of you tools around to the other side.
