I appreciated the extra tips like making sure to mention wrench sizes. I'm going to make sure I have the ratchet ring spanner and other helpful tools. Sometimes having the wrong tool brings you to a screeching halt.

This Rav4 is not a 4wd model is it? Is this job more difficult on the 4wd model?
@gqautodiagnostics Жыл бұрын
Hello, the one in the video is 2wd. Usually it can be a little more work in a 4wd. Just be patient and take your time. Thank you for posting your comment. Have a great day and God bless you 🙏

Why not just replace the bad seal instead of replacing the rack and pinion?
@gqautodiagnostics6 ай бұрын
You can definitely replace the bad seal. However, you can run the risk that the other seals in the Rack and Pinion start leaking, that would not make the costumer happy.
@atnamesarelame6 ай бұрын
@@gqautodiagnostics ok understood. Wouldn't it be a better idea to replace all the seals then? I hear the aftermarket and rebuilt racks aren't so good
@gqautodiagnostics6 ай бұрын
@@atnamesarelame Yes, you can definitely change all the seals, but some of the rack and pinion may need special tool to take them apart and if rebuilding them is not your full-time job it doesn't make sense to have to buy a tool that you may use only once. Also keep in mind that customers want to get the car back as soon as possible so replacing the whole part is faster and can come with a lifetime warranty. Let me know if you have any other questions.

@@gqautodiagnostics yes I understand from the stand point of doing the job for the customer but mechanic is not my profession. I'm just asking as a DIY'er who cares about the longevity of their car
