AC went out , Rear main seal leak Ima fix and build this thing up only had it a little over a year now.

I'm wondering where the timing belt covers are? Other than that it's pretty cool. If I had the money and someone who could do the job I would put one on my 05 double cab.
@screweduptx5123 жыл бұрын
There are none. The supercharger is the reason for that. Good thing there are none, main rare issue with the 4.7s, when they have issues, is when the timing belt gets old and hard. It's easy to change. Pop off the radiator and fan, then you got enough space to change the belt.
@001dman5 жыл бұрын
impressive to see on on the truck at high mileage. most of these blower blew the rods to pieces back in the day. sounds amazing. Wish i could put on on my 05. also, Why are the timing belt covers missing at the top?

the rod issues were due to people putting smaller pulleys on the supercharger. the cast rods will usually do fine unless the truck has been abused from day one. if you're worried you can always order the forged rods from japan or source some aftermarket ones.

@Bert Clayton Lower control arm ball joints. Common fail points on the first gens. Usually a clicking or rattling noise over bumps or rough roads.
@troylunn4965 жыл бұрын
Essentially the ball stretched out the metal inside the joint and is rattling around in there, instead of just rotating, and will eventually tear out the top of the joint. If you think about it, it makes sense. Bumps push up on the tire which is connected to the ball joint, while the coilover pushes down on the lower control arm pulling on the joint, over time stretching the joint.

@gorkmiester284 жыл бұрын
Yeah, mines usually at the line before max if the timing kit is good quality. The timing is pretty much the life of the 2uz.
@screweduptx5123 жыл бұрын
They're supposed to mark that way. That's how you know your battery is good. If it's close to the middle and you got the truck running and sill feels week then you know something isn't right with it. But always it should mark high.
@screweduptx5123 жыл бұрын
Similar thin happens with the oil pressure. If your oil is at the bottom mark when in parked and warmed up then you know you have enough oil. These engines are strong af, so when revving high oil pressure goes up past the middle and always to the last mark. That's how it should be. If it isn't then get it checked

@@nrenenra4287 The problem with the 2UZ and forced induction is that they have weak connecting rods that would break due to them being thin. Although, swapping in forged or pre-1995 1UZ connecting rods would make them "bulletproof" due to them being much thicker and stronger. While the 2UZ is already a very reliable engine, adding a supercharger/turbo without any supporting mods significantly decreases its reliability. Of course, a 2UZ with a TRD supercharger would still last many miles, but it's not going to be anywhere near the amount of naturally aspirated ones.
