Nobody realizes how important trans tuning is. Listen to that first pass in the cabin, you can just hear that line pressure perfect stall and lockup. You can actually hear it lock. Compare it to mullet. In the diesel world lockup is everything. People need to use it more, awesome application of power. The times show that. Good job insane car sounds so healthy in all aspects.
@fgdgrddsew2
@fgdgrddsew2 Жыл бұрын
@KZbin Konto Lockup torque converters are a type of converter that has a clutch. The engagement of this clutch causes the engine to lock to the transmission input shaft thereby leading to a direct 1:1 drive ratio. Basicly, as soon as he disengages the clutch , the car has 100% full power at the right RPM to have full traction and full power off the line.
@ReaperXTC
@ReaperXTC Жыл бұрын
In the diesel word those engines are making a an insane amount of torque compared to the gas world. But yes, trans tuning is crucial in getting down the track fast.

@worldlifediesels8268
@worldlifediesels8268 Жыл бұрын
@KZbin Konto lockup is when the converter in the Trans creates a 1:1 gear ratio. Think of it like letting the clutch all the way out in a manual. Autos run with the clutch held half in. Depending on valve body's, line pressure, stall etc. So the Trans is slipping creating heat and wear due to friction on the clutch packs. Until it locks. Hence letting the clutch out. If you ride your clutch that's what autos do for you. Most people are scared away cause it's so dramatic at that power level it could just spin the tires at 180 mph when it turns into 1:1

It’s crazy how this simple coyote build is doing 6’s consistently, but Cleetus built LS only had a couple 6’s in it before it popped, then eventually went big block. He definitely had top level parts. Maybe mullet is just that much heavier? Or maybeeeee coyote is king 😂 I saw snot rocket v1 at the Atlanta streetcar takeover a few years back. There are lots of lime green drag coyotes, but SN always stuck out because of how clean the build was. Same with great white. I can always pick it out if because of the clean build and fabrication. I love those clean dumps out the front fenders. I’ll have a GT500 in 2 months! I hope to see these cars again soon.

I wonder what head gaskets these guys are using on these builds? I assume they have to use studs, but I would be very impressed if they are still the stock head gaskets. That's a shit ton of cylinder pressure on factory gaskets. Also, regarding the build shown last, 1600 hp with stock cams is insane. Shows you how much effort Ford put into developing a head package that can flow very well.

these huge hp drag cars are almost always running copper gaskets with fire rings. different setups with these rings include just straight onto head and deck of block, or o-ring grooving block, or o-ring in deck and receiver groove in head, o-ringing both the block and head being the best you can get

What rpm are you spinning the motor to? Are the valves titanium? Trying to figure out if boost heat or valve weight is the bigger concern. Did you need to get fancy cam followers? Trying to build a low torque high rpm stick shift setup and trying to figure out if I should do a short stroke big block, something designed for nascar or stick with what I know and build a 5.2 setup with the standard coyote firing order.

Crazy to think the Grub Worm manual f body Lt1 would walk this new dohc auto car down on the top end . Chevy is king 🏁

If I'm correct, grubworm went 6.61. Not exactly a walk compared to a 6.66. In any event, mmr would just walk grubworm with their 5.95. With just 5.4 baby liters. So no, ford is actually king.

No ford is superior to Chevy that el Camino has a built crate motor in it

I'm pretty sure I remember him saying there's more ford parts in the motor than aftermarket parts. What stock motor parts are in grubworm?......I'll wait.

Grubworm been 6.61 at 216mph with an old school lt1 6 speed, and that engine is mostly factory chevy parts and 30 yr old design

Factory ford cast block, built internals. Pretty impressive since a lot of platforms are moving to billet blocks at this level.

@@ThatRacingChannel wouldnt that be a "Built cast block" not "stock cast block". Like i get it but just a little confusing from the title. After watching the video it becomes much more obvious.

what is considered "stock"? I saw a guy absolutely destroy his Coyote trying to hit 1000.

There's stock as in completely unopened and then there's stock as in stock block but built internals. And i've seen completely stock unopened gen2,3 coyotes make 1000hp but many are reliable at the 900hp mark
