You're saying you cut the quick lock clips connected to the heater core outlet tubes so you didn't have to pry it off?? I'm replacing both hoses today!

Thanks for posting this, was a big help, mine wasn't as forgiving as yours though, had to cut the plastic fitting off the heater core, lol just my luck, anyway thanks

Thank you so much for this video! I had the same problem and found you here and I have ordered the replacement hose. I'm having a bit of trouble removing the quick connector from the firewall side but it looks like you did too, initially. I'll keep trying to get that quick connector off of there!

Bought an 03 and noticed several drops of coolant dripping to ground.. (and on intake manifold)..finally noticed it coming from the same hose you repaired..that it already had a hose clamp on it well it was loose so I added another clamp for insurance and tightened both. Quick easy fix still using the original hoses. I'm old and my previous truck was 43 years old so thanks for posting good to know how to remove the 'quick' connections for sometime later down the road. Glad to see the clamps also cleared up the possible intake manifold gaskets leak..replacement work.

Great video, very helpful. I watched other videos on how to replace the quick disconnect fitting but it broke off in the same manner as yours did here. Then when I was removing the remnants of the fitting, the outlet hose broke off too lol. I guess 20 years of use will do that to them. I cut the hose ends, replaced the fittings, and clamped like you did here for a quick fix. Hoping it holds!

That was a great idea! Mine has not leaked a drop you should be good!

@@carsandguitarsdiy Only issue was the slack available for the inlet (from the intake manifold) line. The hose now sits a little bit off on the intake manifold nipple. Probably not a permanent fix but definitely good enough to last a couple of days until you can get a motorcraft hose. The return line has plenty of slack so I expect no issues for a reasonable amount of time.

A right angle pick under the hose breaks it loose safer than using players or force. You will be less;likely to damage the fitting. Also constant pressure clamps should be used on radiator hoses because of the Constant expansion and contraction. Use antifreeze as a lubricant next time.

This video is of value to me.... The lighting is not enough to see the fine detail.... The Motocraft heater hoses are pricey!

That's why I didn't buy the motor raft hose also. Hoping to get better with practice on the lighting and video.......thanks for watching....

@@carsandguitarsdiy So what did you do there ? I couldn't see much ? You just slipped rubber hosing over the inlet/outlet nipples with torque clamps ?

kh733 is the part number for the hose. kh735 is the other hose right next to it

I’m not a mechanic, but what is that big metal pipe you have on the right side of the screen. What is it called? I have one on the passenger side of my engine and and I don’t know how to go about removing it because the heater core hoses are right behind it on the fire wall. It looks like an impossible job. I have a 2012 Ford Edge Ecoboost.

Has your heater core blown out? Curious. Factor hose has a flow restrictor in it to keep high pressure off the heater core.

Are there rubber washers on the heater core male connections? A video for the Expedition shows rubber washer/hard plastic washer/rubber washer inside! Something came off my driver side connection, but I immediately lost it and I smell coolant in the passenger cabin and my heat seems to be always on …. so I suspect I may have connected my hoses on the wrong sides and lost at least one rubber washer.

I probably would have just kept it one solid hose instead of that plastic 90. How did the 90 hold up?

How did it hold up?? Im going to do this in the next couple of days. Motorcraft hose is $90. Did you use the flow restrictor from the old hose?
@carsandguitarsdiy2 жыл бұрын
Still working great! Restrictor? I don't know about the restrictor but I didn't use anything from the other hose.

They gave me a 3/4 hose..it's supposed to 5/8 hose right..and that's probably why it's still leaking.
