That onside kick was incredible. Kicker's approach, wind up, and kick all looked like a regular kick. Must have hit it perfectly off the side of his foot. Had the cameras fooled too.

You could argue this is what really launched Saban and the LSU run of greatness. Without this, they're watching Tennessee face Auburn. Saban's first year in LSU was a bit shaky. Without the momentum of that great run they made in 2001, would have been interesting to see how things go.

i don't usually save whole games once i get the highlights off them. I might have the whole game for LSU 12 Auburn 6 in the 90s and LSU 7 Auburn 6 in the 80s

The game would not have even mattered if Auburn had defeated Alabama in the Iron Bowl. I still haven't forgiven Tommy Tuberville for that 31-7 embarrassment.

Yeah....... 31-7 wasn't even close. Auburn starts off the 2001 season 6-1 including a win over a super strong #1 ranked Florida squad. However, Auburn finishes off the year 1-4 with a final record of 7-5. It wasn't like those last 5 games were super hard either. They only faced 2 ranked teams out of the 5 final games, #19 Georgia & #22 LSU. Those last 5 games for Auburn in the 2001 season will always remain a headscratcher.

@@RevAlSharptonz It was a headscratcher of a year for sure. When Carnell went down on the opening play of the Bama game, Auburn was done. Jason Campbell hadn't figured it out yet. Daniel Cobb should never have been a QB, but he led a couple of magical games. Once teams figured him out, he couldn't do anything. The defense carried the team, but they didn't have the depth yet to hold up.
