If you push the trip set button on the cluster in and hold it. Then, start the car while holding the trip set in. It will do a gauge sweep on all the gauges. So, you will know if a gauge isn't working!!!! It will also put you in diagnostic mode that you can read. Right where the trip set is.

Thanks for the video... the 04 I bought lost the first digit of the display, and wanted to see the inside of it... It's cool that that alarm clock display looking part stays with the cluster, hopefully when I swap it that and retain my motherboard it'll say 202k miles - which is what the car should have - and not 302k miles (which it kinda looks like it has) lol.

My 04 is hard to get into fwd and rev too. Rewinding to what you said about over torquing the screws

is there a way to change the odometer from kilometer to miles? for 99-04 mustang

My odometer and speedo dont work in my 04. Somebody swapped a T45 in there and I think the vehicle speed sensor (mechanical gear type) doesnt interface with a new edge dash or ecu? A tr3650 vss has a magnetic pickup. I get a VSS low voltage code with my check engine light.

So you have to take off the motherboard from your old cluster and put it on new cluster you are putting in your car?

Yes, if you try to install a cluster without switching the board from your cluster the car wont start because of the programing for the security system.

I had to gorilla super glue both handles to panel they kept popping out. Any suggestions for getting to oil pressure switch or sensor on engine? Really tight no space.

G brown my ODO does not work on my cluster so i went to the junk yard and got one off the same model and year as mine *2002 V6* and i put the new one in and it wouldn’t start cause of the security thing. So my question is if i put the old mother board on the new cluster would the ODO work? Or for the ODO what would i need to fix that

My speedometer is not working when I’m going 40mph my speedometer says 80mph and I put a new cluster today but my car didn’t start and took it to somebody to program it but it still didn’t crank the theft light came on and it won’t go away they told me I need to get another cluster do you have any idea of what could it be or is there something else I have to do in order for my car to start

Like I show in this video if you install a different cluster you must swap your original circuit board onto the one you are putting in or the security system will be triggered and the car wont start. You have to use the original circuit board..

Did you check the wire at the oil filter

I did, I made another video showing where I found the break in the sending wire up by the bottom of the battery. Repaired the wire and problem solved. My gauge cluster had cracks in the lens anyway so I was wanting to replace it anyway. Thanks for commenting!
