2001 Seadoo GTX Fuel problem. Can we get it started. Fuel pump fix

Brother!! This video was fire!! It was so helpful and filmed well! I was curious as to which way you went in from the front or the back of the ski so thank you for showing us that as well. My dad's ski randomly quit while I was riding it and I'm thinking it may be the fuel pump. It was 2 years ago so I can't recall if I heard the fuel pump priming while trying to crank, but he recently just dropped it off at my house and I'll have a new battery in it in the morning and if I don't hear the fuel pump priming and I'm certain that it's probably fuel pump.

Thanks for the comments. We are here to attempt to help where we can. I have a few more items to tackle on the seadoo but they are at my brothers house. If I go over there to work on them, he will want me to tackle a long list of items. :) Good luck and i hope it doesn't get too expensive for you. Some of the seadoo parts were getting up there.

Hope this helps, but the filters on the pump are called strainer’s and the pump looks exactly like the pump used on a mid 90s Chevy pick up! Good video 👍🏻

@@5LakesGarage I recently replaced my fuel pump, filters, and the funny shaped rubber gasket at the bottom of the pump. Still not turning to idle. It turns but not into idle

it has been a bit since I dove into those skis. There is an air pump that helps regulate the fuel pressor. Check out crankshaft&co. He has more details. The Skies are my brothers so i can't run out there and look at them. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGTdYYFuedGen9E good luck.

Hi I have a 2007gti. Do you have to drain the gas tank when you change the fuel pump? Changed the fuel pump and now when you connect the key it sprays gas from the quick connect so changed the quick connect from the high pressure line and that's not it either. Do you have to vent the tank in any way to relieve pressure or any clue as to what's going on?

@@5LakesGarage hey bro, so I replaced my fuel pump and filters. but im no longer getting voltage to the plug that goes to the fuel pump system from the ecu. any ideas what could cause that?

@@roymead1669 There are a few common areas to look at. fuse ground safety switch I also had a problem with mine the plastic connector is wearing out and the wires will not stay all the way in. I will be replacing all of that one day.

I have the exact sames issue with the fuel plug been corroded. But queastion, do your jetski use to do 4 short beeps code before fixing it ?? mine do that once a put the key in. It do 4 shorts beep every 2 to 3 seconds. Let me know

These skis are my brother's and I have not been able to fix all the issues. But yes it does beep and it drives my brother crazy. :) but the issue in our case is that the fuel level gage broke off and it thinks it is low on fuel. I am working on his pontoon boat at the moment. I hope to get back on the jet sky project once i am done.

I have a 01 seadoo gtx di that ive been working on i put a new fuel pump in the 4 days ago it primed when you put key in and fuel would go through gas line how it should be. But went to start it yesterday and today and no start i checked the fuel line and no fuel at all when priming nor when cranking, new gas tank, good gas , new fuel filters all 3 new fuel pump what can cause this? I can hear it primping so i know its getting power but when you check the fuel line no fuel coming out not even if you disconnect the fuel filter without the hoses on it nothing any ideas could it be a bad fuel pump its the Quantum fuel pump

Man it has been a while since I was messing with the Seadoo. I will see if I can do a bit more research on the matter but the things I would check. 1. Mechanical - Are all the hoses connected and do not have any holes. 2. Wiring - if the pump was wired backward it would spin backwards. (not likely since it worked the day before.) 3. check inside the canister. I had an issue in mine that the filter on the bottom of the pump was not put on properly and it blocked the intake. That one was on my. 4. Check the top of the pump where the tube goes in that has the spring on it. There is a seal that if it blows out then you will not get pressure or fuel out the lines. 5. Last would be the usual annoying questions. Does it have gas in the tank? :) I will think some more and try to get back to you on the subject. Thanks and sorry I could not be more help.

Could be a fuel line checking, when they come apart from the inside, they will act like a check valve. Also, is fuel pump wired backward? Hope it helps.
