This is a video on how to change your oil and filter on a 2001 Toyota RAV4.
A full synthetic oil change will cost at least $65.00 to have a shop do it and probably even more at some dealerships. I did the math and my cost to do this with a more expensive high-mileage oil and a premium oil filter removing 99% of contaminants was approximately $35.00. That is at least $30.00 in savings.
NOTICE: I am not an affiliate of Amazon or any auto parts stores. I make these videos to be loving toward you, my neighbor, and to help you save money from some of the places that charge ridiculous prices for something that is so easy to do once you know how.
Some of the parts are listed below. You can also get some of these parts at Walmart or your local auto parts store.
Drain Plug Gaskets:
I recommend not buying these online unless you trust the source. I purchased what was called OEM oil drain plug gaskets on Amazon and they disintegrated in 5,000 miles and my oil drain plug came loose with very little pressure placed on it even though I know I torqued it properly. Having to replace an engine because you are trying to save a few cents isn't worth the risk.
Oil Filter: There are cheaper ones than this model.
