Make sure you save your old incandescent bulbs. I just had to remove my LED bulbs in order to pass state inspection (I did not have to do that last year).

What a joke. Just because they are LED? Trucks come stock with LED lights now. Do they make people take those out? My state doesn’t have inspections thankfully.

My God that repair was difficult and time consuming! I decided to replace both bulbs, and I spent AT LEAST 60,000 - 70,000 milliseconds doing it! I got started about 2:30 into your video, and I climbed under the truck to do replacement while the video was running. By the time I was finally finished toiling to get them replaced, your video had reached approx the 4:00 mark. Now I'm just not sure there's enough time left to do the other stuff I wanted to do..... *sigh*

Never fixed it on mine, just dealt with it. It may be worth looking into companies like Diode Dynamics though. They specialize in error free style LED bulbs for Chrysler vehicles.

Should be able to order the light housing. I’m guessing it just snaps into place. I’d go out and check mine but unfortunately this truck got totaled a few years back.

Did you use LED’s? If so, did you try rotating the bulb 180° in the socket?

It’s a 2016 ram 1500 2wd

@@ericalvarado4158 According to my wiring diagram, both license plate lights on a 2016 Ram 1500 get their power from pin # 18 on connector #5 of the body control module. Should be a dark blue wire with white stripe. The body control module should be on the left end of your dash behind a plastic cover that pops off, or just above where your feet go, behind the knee bolster.

Nope, no issues. I don’t believe the license plate lights are tied in to that lamp out light, I THINK that’s just for the head lights and tail lights, possibly blinkers. You shouldn’t have any issues with these.

I have been having the problem with my dome light about the lights staying just a little bit lit after everything is locked and off, did these bulbs actually fix the problem. If so what’s the name or link I could purchase them at. Thx bro!

So your dome light stays on dim after everything else shuts off? Is the dome light LED?

Tony The Truck Guy Yea the dome light does it and so does the 3rd break light and their all LED, but the license plate lights and reverse lights do not and their the same bulbs, wish they were brighter too! Thx for your time bro.

My Dakota did the same thing with the cargo lights and dome lights when I switched to LED. I think they have a very small amount of voltage going to them at all times. I never had a problem with dead battery or anything since LED draw such little power, but it was a bit annoying. I think you have to go with a brand like diode dynamics or Lasfit. They make LED bulbs specially for the Mopar vehicles that aren’t supposed to cause that problem.
