my 2002 manual climate control (apparently uncommon 7 pin connector to the "resistor") for the last 3 years, had weird intermittent blower motor behavior. sometimes it wouldnt shut off despite knob setting until key off, some times actual blower speed ignored the selector dial. sometimes it wouldnt work at all until i started turning the knob back and forth fast and somes times i had to turn it super slow then the blower would kick on. yesterday it went completely out and will not come back on. i gave the blower motor 12 volt directly and it came on. like a fool i replaced the "resistor" and had no change. tonight i back probed the connector that goes to the resistor and found only ground and battery wires had any volts, everything else seemed dead as i probed them and ran through all the settings on the speed dial on the dash. now that i am thinking about it i remember smelling a burnt electrical smell a few times last week from with in my vehicle cabin, and my blower speed knob got harder to turn for a few days, but now its back to normal. i bet that speed selector switch thing is bad. i was hoping the resistor was the issue and that maybe it blew a fuse while dieing, but my fuses seem ok of course.

I'm hoping you still look at these comments. I have 2008 trailblazer with manual climate control. Blower speeds 1-4 quit working but 5 still works. Everything and everyone said it had to be the resistor, so I put a new one in and I still have the same problem. All the fuses look good. So I'm not sure what to look at. I'm guessing I need to look at the actual switch on the controller but I'm hoping to get a clear idea of what I should be looking at and testing before I pull the whole front of the dash off. Any help would be really appreciated.

What are the proper steps for doing an HVAC reset on a 2004 TB LT with automatic AC? (Single A/C unit model.) I removed the 10A HVAC B fuse and went by the steps listed on numerous websites. Just recharged the refrigerant and had cool air for 2 days (no leaks according to Valvoline...). Trying to figure out why it crapped out. Now, after doing the HVAC recalibration I'm only getting air blowing on the floor. No face vents on any setting. I did let it go through it's recal operation for 2 mins before turning off for 15 seconds and starting the vehicle.

Mine is an 2002 with automatic control with the 3-wire input and 2-wire to the blower. GM item #52494707 and AC Delco # 15-80186 are discontinued and no aftermarket application works, not Dorman, not anyone. Did you ever get a resolution or fix for this? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I would bang on the blower motor and also wiggle the connector to check for a bad connection. Beyond that, I would check to see if the blower motor is receiving a power and a ground.

Not a pro by any means, but I'm thinking you either need to do an HVAC recalibration (which I recommend doing via ODB computer or at a shop. Since I did the fuse pull method on my 04 TB w auto air and only get floor vents now lmao...) or door actuator replacement. Apparently the climate control modules go bad too over time, so that could be worth a look. If your model has dual AC (compressor in front and back with vents and controls in the trunk area) it could be a whole nother animal you're dealing with. There are different refrigerant levels between single and dual air models. Which could have something to do with it if you or someone else only charged it for single air specs.

I couldn't quite figure it out on my 04 TB w auto air. I pulled the HVAC B fuse under the seat and went by instructions listed for HVAC recalibration procedure on numerous websites. Now I only get floor vents. I would recommend having the HVAC reset done via ODB or at a shop so you don't get stuck w no face vents like me lol.

2002 trailblazer. Mine seems to work great but not getting much air through vents in all settings. Is this normal? What could be the fix for this since no cabin filter is installed.

Did you ever figure it out? My fuse doesn't blow, but I've had this odd buzzing sound coming from the speaker next to the drivers side door any time I turn the vehicle off. While I was attempting an HVAC recalibration, I noticed when I take out the HVAC B fuse the buzzing stops! So that sort of narrows down where the root cause of that is. However, I borked the actuator or something. It's blowing hot after a recharge (which prompted me to do the recal.), but after the recalibration I'm only getting lower vents no matter what setting it's on. Time to replace the door actuator and/or climate module I guess. And get the compressor checked. Blower motor is fine in my case (I think) as the air roars at max speed.

Hey bro could you tell me where the blend door for the driver side is at? My 2002 trailblazer blows cold on the passenger side and not the driver side. The driver side just blows hot air. Keep in mind the truck sat for about 7 months before I got it running. The A/C before then ran good and it was down due to the radiator not the A/C. I’ve looked at other videos but they are either off by a year or it’s GMC not Chevy. I know the system is the same but the position of parts may be different from one year to next. Let me know please and Thank you.

why do i have cold air blowing out but not hot air?
@LehewTech
@LehewTech 3 жыл бұрын
The main cause of no hot air is low coolant level. This will cause the heater core to not get hot enough. If the coolant level is good, then you may have an issue with a clogged heater core or a blend door that is not moving due to a failed actuator or a stuck/broken blend door.
