2002 Frieghtliner FL106

A Duie Pyle out of suburban Philadelphia had a fleet of FL106 box trucks with a Series 50 paired to a manual transmission. Those were pretty rare trucks to begin with.

Very nice! That truck does sound very similar to the buses with the same powertrain. Thank you for documenting this beautiful piece of equipment! I wish they are still around but from the last comments I saw, they are now retired, sad...

The only thing that killed those trucks was the rust, those trucks was stationed in Rhode Island and the frames was in bad shape. They wasn’t gonna past inspection and the company opted to buy new trucks. The powertrains was still solid

Awesome vid man. I watched it back when you first put it up, but forgot to comment. These FL106's are still floating around every blue moon. One even passed my house a couple years ago. Sounds like a 1996 Gillig Phantom lol.

Great video! The series 50 is a strong runner, and sounds good! I am willing to bet most of the newer trucks spend more time in the shop, than the older one, like what you're driving here.

Man this is just awesome! I don't think I've ever heard a Detroit Series 50 in a truck before! Reminds me of a Series 50 on a bus, and it sounds absolutely fantastic! Loved that run through the gears as you got on the highway! Do you know what model Allison it has, such as the HD4060? If you still drive trucks, I'd love more driving videos on the trucks in the fleet, (including this one), but much, much longer, like 2-3 hours long! Please let me know ASAP.

Thank you! I’m not sure on the transmission model but i have since left that company, last time I heard all the FL106s was retired and replaced by Frieghtliner M2s with the Cummins 6.7L
