Great attitude, however in this video I thought Chrysler purge solenoid valve's are in the closed position until the right temperature or conditions are reached for the pcm to command it open so vacuum from the manifold regulated by a duty cycle purge gas vapors. I thought that on cold start ups the LDP is commanded to close the back door to pressurize the system for self testing. The question I got is. Is the LDP the vent solenoid? The other question is should smoke come out of the vent hose at the bottom of the LDP if the valve is not closed

I have an 08 grand cherokee with this same issue and several mechanics haven't been able to fix it. According to every single one of them the smoke test comes back with no leaks anywhere. The clock is ticking on my inspection. Got any ideas?

The leak we found is not an easy leak to detect, maybe they missed it, or their machine is not that great.

@@james2042 Yes, but not too much. I know you don't want to tell your mechanics what to do or what to check, but they should also check the purge and vent valve because they can leak SLOWLY but the smoke will not go in the air, and you won't be able to see it.

I bought a code reader and it says I have a small and a large leak. Im gonna look around like you did and try to find any obvious leaks and try to fix them myself. I got it for free so I can't complain too much. Do you have any idea what this would cost to fix if I took it to someone?
