This 2002 Duramax has the Battery warning light on after a recent alternator install but is charging. Problem was bent pin in regulator connector.

My 06 2500hd has the same code I just put a new alt and battery and belt on it my voltage regulator is set to max 14 volts. The electrical shop here in chandler said the yellow top optimas will last along time if it’s not charged pst 14 volts.I’m thinking since it’s only going 14 max it’s tripping it out? The alt is the back up for the LSX motor in a sandbar so it’s got a stand alone style electrical system.

I am having this very same issue. Was driving on highway got off the ramp battery light came on next thing I knew all my lights started dimming pulled over got a tow got p0622 on odb2 reader. I bought a brand new battery today and all seemed good for about 3 miles then battery light same issues p0622 got her back home parked. Turn engine off and back on light was gone again waited about 10 minutes idle it was back. This issue is like a jack in a box. After seeing this video I feel I should verify all wiring connections from alternator to battery before replacing it. It does charge better when its on just not enough to keep the battery alive all accessories are off...

Sounds like the alternator is dying but check the connections before replacing it. Also check the alternator drive belt and tension. This video was a situation where someone had worked on the vehicle for another unrelated repair, had unplugged the alternator and bent the terminal plugging it in. I believe it was still charging though. Good luck.

Would a loose belt or bad tensioner make my voltage drop if I have new alternator and battery, also I get 9.9 volt at the brown wire
@PhillipBailey Жыл бұрын
If the belt slips you will have low charge output for sure. The brown wire is duty cycled so a voltmeter will average it out. What's your actual problem?

@@PhillipBailey i put a new alternator and battery, i have a battery light on my dash and my guage says like 10, i checked my voltage at the pole on the alternator when i start the truck and i see my voltage go from 11 to basically 0. 02 silverado 4.8 2wd

Note: i replaced this alternator from a rebuild one, the alternator from this truck was the original 243k miles. So idk if the rebuild one its not good . I cheked all my fuses all good there

@@aca247 but what's it doing? Not charging and light on or charging but light on? If it's the latter it's likely the wrong regulator in it.
