Very good ,and the sea foam , fantastic ! But Unless you want to take it apart you don’t have to. While running , remove the fuel fuse ( 4th medium square one , see book) Turn off key, Unbolt battery cables , Take the filter housing off, Loosen the egr nut ( w crescent wrench , or 1 1/4 I think) and any plugs in the way, Loosen manifold bolts ,t20 (built in, rear by feel though) Take a 2 in extension( w a socket on it) and prop the manifold up in front, Id put a rag or a peice of paper over the intake holes ) Replace it ,t30) Note; feel the intake gasket , if it’s factory and still raised up , it’s fine , naturally “fit” to the manifold made to last ,( like an air filter gasket ) and should not leak.(mine didn’t,) Take the socket out , Bolt her back up ( to specs!) When your done , sea foam it to clean ( slowly ) . light may come off dash by itself or from leaving batt undone , but would put the obd on just to make sure.

Thank you very much for posting this video. I am handy but don't know very much about cars. This video saved me 300$ and I learned a skill. That back screw was really hard to take out- i couldn't even find it at first. I used my iPhone in video mode with the light on so I could see it, after that it wasn't so bad. I couldn't really take the whole cover off but i removed all the screws so i could still lift it and was able to change the sensor. Anyway i just wanted to say thanks.

There's an"Emergency Fuel Shut Off Switch" on other side of glove box, passenger side, by top door hinge, red button. I used that instead of removing fuel fuse. While engine running press button and fuel eventually used up and no pressure in line.

I already clean my gasket from the inteck manifold BUT i forgot to realize the fuel pressure from the engine so after I put it back and start the engine a hall bunch of fuel came out from the bottom of the engine and don’t know what to do? Removing and replacing the 4.0 intake manifold is not easy. Two hints that work for me are: lie atop the engine, reach down and around the manifold with left hand to locate the Torx 30 screw at back (driver side) while groping for it with the Torx bit. This for both remove and replacement. Secondly, assuming intake fully removed, put a small band of masking tape on each Torx screw to hold them at the top of their travel while jockeying the manifold back into position. This prevents the bottom of the screws from dropping inside the intake ports and complicating a difficult positioning exercise. Good luck.
@GeorgeVassalloJr3 жыл бұрын
It took me 2 hours to get that one bolt in back of intake manifold.
@UtahDarkHorse3 жыл бұрын
I had a hard time with them too. I used a flexible endoscope type thing from Amazon that connects via wifi to my phone. I propped my phone up where I could see it, then used the scope to see the torx head and position the bit correctly. Saved a huge amount of time.

Hey i was looking at the video as I am expirencing simular problems. My problem is very little fuel delivery to the shrader valve on my 2002 ford explorer 4.0 sohc non flex. I installed a fuel pump installed a emergency shut off installed a new crankshaft position sensor. Got new relays and fuses and the issue is no start but crank. Before the issue the truck died. I got it started then died again. Hugh amounts of hesitation beforw the fuel pump install. I need to know where exactly is the fuel regulator located so i can install new. Is it behind the cold air intake manifold and what does it look like. Thanks

Not a very good video at all. How can you make a video of changing the fuel rail pressure sensor (position sensor you called it) and not even show a pic of the sensor and where it is on the rail. You showed me how to change the intake manifold gaskets really nice....I pulled up this video so I could see you unbolt the intake and change out the fuel rail pressure sensor...not unbolt a throttle body or watch your tachometer and or note the color of your exhaust. Next time keep your eyes on the prize.
