Thank you for the video. To not get up twice, I’d probably add a backup camera with the radio installation.

I did add a backup camera at the same time. The one I used is in the description. Perfect for the 1st gen Pilot

Do you have a part number for the Pouch/Tray you used in place of the 6 Disc CD Changer? I am doing the same thing but cannot find that pouch/tray. Also you mentioned you added a subwoofer amp (Used your link to review) were you able to mount in behind the stero? If so can you identify where you placed it. Thanks for the post awesome job!

Part number is 77280-S9V-A01ZA, but it's no longer available new. Have to buy it used on eBay or junk yard. The amp I listed barely fit behind the new stereo. I had it at an angle. My stereo was very shallow though, so I'm not sure if it would fit with a bigger double din stereo. It might.

So awesome that you were able to get an amp setup to work with the factory sub. I’ve got an aftermarket head unit and would like to copy your amp set up. I’ve never installed and amp before and would like to know where you got the power and ground from? Also the RCA cable that you linked in your description, you used that to go from the head unit to the amp correct? Then did you cut off the factory sub wire harness and then connect those wires to the amp? The wiring is slightly confusing for me at the moment, would you mind spelling it out for me? Thank you for the help!
@JackofAllMasterofNone Жыл бұрын
Yes. The RCA runs from the back of the stereo to the amp, which is behind the stereo. The power for the amp is split from the power to the head unit. The yellow wire is constant battery power and black is ground. For the amp remote turn on I used the amp wire on the back of the stereo. That's what tells the amp to turn on. There is a factory harness that runs to the sub that was unplugged from the OEM stereo. It's very obvious because it only has 2 wires going into it. I cut off the plug and wired those 2 wires to the amp output . Just need to use one of the amp channels since it's a mono sub.

I don't suppose you have a video showing how to remove and replace the middle panel assembly (77620-S9V-A02ZJ) for a 2005 Honda Pilot? Written instructions I've found, dictate the removal of the center panel first, then the instrument panel, and last is the middle panel. Without any pictures or video to go with those instructions, it may not be something my husband would want to do. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Did you use the same stock brackets to hold up the aftermarket stereo ?
@JackofAllMasterofNone Жыл бұрын
No. This new stereo is shallow and does not need the brackets and they wouldn't fit. With a longer aftermarket stereo, you probably could

Very Helpful! Thanks for making this video. I might be replacing my lower 6 disc that is broken for a replacement. Do you know if the Radio code thing will pop up by just replacing the lower unit?
@JackofAllMasterofNone2 жыл бұрын
I doubt the changer will prompt it. As long as you don't disconnect the power to the head unit itself.

Thank you for posting this video, are you able to use the factory steering wheel controls for volume?
@JackofAllMasterofNone Жыл бұрын
I am. With a universal android stereo like I used you don't need any additional parts. With most normal aftermarket stereos (Kenwood, Sony, Pioneer, etc.) you need an interface kit.
@eddienellis5025 Жыл бұрын
@@JackofAllMasterofNone , can you provide more details on the connection? I purchased the same items per your list and there is no connection for the steering wheel control. Thank you
@JackofAllMasterofNone Жыл бұрын
@@eddienellis5025 You're going to have to do some of your own digging on this. One of the wires in the factory harness is the steering wheel control wire. It is not pinned on the aftermarket harness so you will have to cut it and splice into it on the factory side of the wiring and tie that to the key 1 wire on the head unit. After that wire is connected you can program the steering wheel controls in the settings or there is actually a program for it on the head unit called steering wheel control
