Excellent video! I have a 2008 4Runner and hooked up a backup camera, steering wheel controls and Sirius XM. Your video helped me. One thing to mention. There was a wire that is supposed to connect to the parking brake. I'm not sure what it does but I assume it grounds the the circuit when the parking brake is applied. The parking wires are too buried behind the dash for my big hands. So installed a two-pole switch in the console allowing me to manually open and close the circuit.

With this Sony, we simply just grounded the parking brake wire in our harness. If installing a Pioneer or Alpine, you can use a bypass. Any other brands you can simply ground.

I couldn't get my steering wheel controls to work about a year ago, but i am using the access module. Going to retry today. Also didn't do the antenna amplifier good to know.

I have a 2009 trail edition 4runner with Tom Tom unit, I would like to replace with a 2019 Toyota 86 TRD Subaru BRZ Pioneer Stereo Radio Head Unit Factory pt546-00170, what would I need to do in order for it to work.What harnesses would I need. I do want the steering controls to work as well.

I followed this video, any everything worked great except my front speakers are not functioning. When using the fade/balance to test the individual speakers, neither of the front speakers produce sound. I double checked the grey/grey-black and the white/white-black and they are connected properly. Any idea how to troubleshoot this?

@@whylee13 Do you have JBL? Are the front channels on the new radio the issue? You'd have to start removing variables to see what the problem is. You can take a 9v battery and touch the front speaker pairs to see if you hear a pop at the harness.

@Provo Beast Audio Installation No JBL system, had continuity from the solder to the speaker connection, but the speaker failed the 9v battery test.

@@whylee13 Start removing variables - is it the radio not producing audio over the front channels? Do you have an amplifier in line preventing audio? Wiring issue? Speaker issue?
