2003 Dodge 24 valve po335 & po336 codes

Dodge 24v that has a multitude of problems. Clutch is making alot of noise​, exhaust brake does not work, emergency brake does not work, and most importantly the engine would not run.

I had a NO Start issue that came and went on my 1999 Dodge 2500 cummins, so I bought a code scanner for $35 on eBay and when testing the truck, it said PO336 and after I pulled the starter and replaced the Original Dodge Part with a new Crankshaft Position Sensor, my NO Start issue was fixed, the problem on my truck was very erratic, and everyone I talked too was trying to tell me it was the VP44 pump. Thank goodness for guys like Warren who gives you better idea's and options to look for and to try before throwing money out the window by replacing parts it doesn't need. I paid $50 for the new crankshaft sensor and it only took me an hour, plus it saved me thousands of dollars to boot....Great video, keep up the good work !!!

I have an 03 exactly the same as this truck except 2wd 0ver 500,000 miles original injectors, injector pump, turbo, on 3rd clutch but original flywheel so other than your normal maintenance i.e. starters, water pumps etc. this has been by far the best truck Dodge has ever put out and is still going strong to this day 1/14/2022 and gets an average of 24 mpg and not from what the lie-o-meter says thats from me doing it the old fashion way, 6th grade arithmetic.

When you first started it the tach wasn’t working. The second time you started it the tach was working. Was a clue there.

Hey man , very informative i have watched a lot of your videos over the years. I have the same situation going on with my truck 03 6 speed 305 hp. i bought the truck as a project not running. after some trouble shooting i ended up with 6 caps on the rail to even see rail pressure to allow the ecm to start. I installed 6 used injectors to see if the engine was ok instead purchasing a brand new set. got it running no problem, only thing is i have the same issue with the connection on the ecm, some times it will run on 3 cylinders and sometimes 5 or 6, have to fool with the wires on that same plug sometimes to even start it. i think i should be able to fix up the connection no problem but my question is i have a slow decel, do you think that could be caused by the wiring? or am i going to be looking for new injectors? truck fires up first thing when it is seeing proper communication from the ecm ( when you can hear the injectors clicking"self test i guess") so this leads me to believe its holding rail pressure when its shut off. any advise would be great. Thank you.

We had a Cummins come into our shop had the exact same problem with the pressure plate except mine cut almost the whole bellhousing off

Can a p0336 cause my alternator not to charge the batteries I can't get rid of the p0336 hesitates to start as well but runs okay

I have an 04, I keep getting a p0336 code, I've replaced the sensor 3 times now, and it still has a problem, my only thought is it's the harness or ecm, any insight? The symptoms are it just misses every now and then, starts perfect and runs alright for the most part

check the front plug on the ecm. wiggle it nd make sure it is clean

I had all sorts of weird fault codes , replaced a lot of sensors, took it to a good electronics mechanic (ase?) and after a couple of visits found out my 5v dc wire had the plastic worn off and was shorting intermittently to ground. Finally after a year of issues truck in running great with no check engine light .
