I have a 2007 750 shadow spirit. I did the same to mine and it sounds great. If you are having overheating problems I would get it looked at. It could be your fan or water pump. These bikes are water cooled which means it has radiater and such as a car or truck. Also just got done riding it and went back out to ride again and it wouldn't start. Cleaned the carb and it worked. Here's some good advice don't use cheap gas. Use name brand and best gas also ad cleaners every ounce in a while. It will help.

Just did mine sounds great I used a 2 in on mine 14.99 plus tax beats 300.00 + for new exhaust
@zaraa0313 жыл бұрын
@brianwvdad32 I didn't have to rejet. Generally you only have to rejet if you replace the entire exhaust. With the hole saw mod you can just leave it the way it is. If you get any popping (I didn't) you can always adjust the fuel/air mixture screws.

@ussprinceton2004 I haven't had any overheating problems yet, and I live in a pretty hot area. However, I do avoid riding when it's really hot if I can help it, and I turn the engine off at long stop lights.

Hi! I have the same bike and I want to do the same with my exhaust. Tell me please, after 5 years, do you noticed any problems with the bike? Overheating, loose power, increased gas consumption or something like that?
@zaraa038 жыл бұрын
I haven't noticed any differences in performance at all!
Did you ever notice any difference in performance after a while or with the way it runs

Where did you get your saddle bags?
@shadowrider291810 жыл бұрын
by doing this, does it affect the performance of the bike at all?
@zaraa0310 жыл бұрын
Nothing that I could discern.

idk if your year model is but newer year models are liquid cooled so if you have any kind of overheating then you got a bigger problem than just having a hot engine haha

Hey I'm wanting to get a shadow spirit for my first bike but used and I weigh 150 and I am 5"8 and I was wondering if it would be a good beginner bike but don't know if I would be able to hold 500 some pounds up
@zaraa0310 жыл бұрын
I think 500 is ok to start with. My first bike was a Shadow 500. I wouldn't go bigger though, at least not until you are more comfortable riding.

My first bike was a 750 Shadow ACE. I am 5' 8" and 165 and although it seemed "big" at first, I quickly got used to it. I now ride a 1300 and have no problems. The 750 feels like a Moped to me now. I think you will quickly outgrow the 500.

Can these Honda Shadow Spirit VT750DC motorcycles sit at idle for a long time in lots of several consecutive stop light sections without overheating? Also, will the engine not overheat in very slow traffic, lasting hours, where air doesn't go through the radiator?
@chadschumacher60045 жыл бұрын
The fan should kick in.
@daniellau58595 жыл бұрын
Its liquid cooled, so yes, it should last through traffic. Unless youve never changed the coolant, itll be fine

Adding to this, my bikes an 01 Shadow VT750CD ACE and its got a radiator. Idk if the other models have em, but itd be an odd change for Honda to do

WD-40 isn't actually a true lubricant. WD stands for "water displacing" and its main use is as a solvent or rust dissolver. Rant over..
@TepcoCycleRepair4 жыл бұрын
I know this is 10 months old but here is my "rant". WD40 is in fact a lubricant just read the can for your answer, I don't think they can be any clearer. And yes it also disperses water.
