I've got one and it makes me smile every time I drive it. Its got the 2500 HD trucks front chasis design. Factory delivered with under armor, 33 inch tires, rear locker, bullet proof 6.0L V8, plush leather wide interior, great approach and departure clearance, front and back hitch, universal window switch etc. Its a great weekend toy. And its unique. It also gets better gas mileage than a 1969 Camaro SS or Mustang GT. My hummer H2 average stays steady at 12.9mpg. My daily is an EV so still use much less gas than the average driver. Like to listen to early 2000s music when driving the H2 lol.

I remember the massive Hummer dealership off the highway between Houston and Galveston. Had a few cars strapped to the roof and an off-road course next to the dealer lot. I was invited to a gm event where the general public could drive all the new gm cars back in the mid 2000's. They had one of those steep hills we got to drive the h2 up and over in a race track parking lot. It was a really good brand experience. Also drove the c6 corvette there and cts. It was moments in time i will never forget. Microsoft did this with the xbox one release too. I like it a lot when companies do that stuff. Huge brand builder to me.

I own a 2005 Hummer H2 S.U.T. (sport utility Truck option) for the past four years. I like it a lot and I have used it as my daily driver for years. The interior shows it's age. It has had several minor electronic problems. Also, I own a 2007 Hummer H3 with Luxury + Adventure options. I have had it for the past seven and a half years. Use to use it as my daily drive but it had a lot of never ending electronic failures of numerous components and still does after several repairs. Do not buy an old Hummer H2 and especially not the H3 unless you can comfortably afford more frequent than average repairs or you have good mechanical skills. Other than that they are fun and perform excellent in the mud, rain, and snow. They also make you feel significantly safer inside compared to numerous other vehicles.

Back in the 2000's, a big, bulky, heavy, rugged, and militaristic suv! The Hummer H2, the Hollywood cultural icon poster boy, and a icon of status, being seen in numerous hip hop music videos. You would have to be rich to drive in those big suvs, and spend extra money of gas since it was a gas guzzler 😂 It's a shame they just don't maks Hummers anymore. Even the new electric GMC Hummer isn't really the same like the big, millitary inspired, gas guzzlers, from that era.

GM was thinking quarterly at this era and not long term. Pontiac, Saab, Saturn, Hummer, do not exist today because of this quarterly thinking. Should have started with what was shown as the H4 ( Jeep Wrangler sized roofless, Doors off type) would have buried the Jeep TJ, kept GM flush with $$, been in every neighborhood in America. Should have been a niche vehicle to sell alongside other GM. Cadillac-H2, Chevrolet-H3 Pontiac H-4. a halo product to bolster existing brands, drive walk in traffic, and allowed skilled salesmen to have had a shot. nope they dictated Proprietary Buildings, off road courses ect. too bloated, and their contract was always going to expire in 2009 with AM General.

GM got rid of the Hummer brand because the government stipulated it as part of the bail out due to its environmental perception with the administration at that time. The other brands were of their choice but the contract specifically states Hummer, even though their sales were actually really good. This is also why China didn’t allow their metal manufacturer to purchase it.

@@jackdough8164 Yeah there is still the Escalade/Suburban and Navigator/Expedition. I agree that some people need such a vehicle and I'm fine with that. I suspect they comprise a small percentage of the people who buy them though. Whenever I see one on the road, it's almost always the driver by themself or with a front passenger and that's it. Not loaded down with people, cargo, or towing. I suspect the majority who buy them new do so as a status symbol, not out of necessity. I can't claim to be impressed. Quite the opposite actually since to me such vehicles are the antithesis of classiness. Plus, they block my view on the road, squeeze into a parking space next to me, and then I can't easily get in or out.

This was an embarrassment of a vehicle, the H2 not the whole lineup. Sorry to the people who own one, but averaging 11 mpg in a vehicle that doesn’t have proper off-road clearance for one. The inside, the rearview is just terrible, because designers decided to put fake vents instead of helping people see. The V8 is just pathetic; it doesn’t make much power or torque. And not to forget these did have a lot of electrical issues and occasionally transmission problems. You’d be lucky to not have an issue!

@@austinfrazier7325 the H2 is not a muscle car bro It’s a badly designed Utility vehicle that took design influence from an old muscle car, then added a terribly underpowered engine. Charged 45’000 back in the early 2000s and added some cheaply made leather, called it off-road when they actually took away some of the ground clearance. They took the Chevy Tahoe and worked around it to create the H2 also if you did not know that, it is 70% the Tahoe’s body frame.
