Funk Sevsxn thanks man. I've actually sold it since then. It was a pretty slick truck. It had Chrysler 300 SRT8 seats, super clean interior. A charger RT motor with the cam, Longtubes, cold air and the exhaust system I built.

You will need 16x6.1 exhaust springs & 8 x6.1 intake & 8 x 6.1 exhaust pushrods.... you use 6.1 exhaust springs for both the intake & exhaust valves on the 5.7 when doing the cam swap... if you have mds also do yourself a favor & delete it .. you’ll need 4 plugs & replace all the lifters with new non-mds ones 👍🏻

aLew only thing you would see different between an 04-05 is TCM Tuning. Other than that it's pointless. The 03-05 is a HUGE difference cause the 03 pcm can't really be custom tuned very well if at all. Lol

dry509 the tunability Of the older stuff personally I think is better. But I prefer the 6.1 or 6.4 LX cars. Charger,challenger or 300. Lots of mods out there. Lots of tuning and things to do.

Heavy Chevy yeah. You’ll need a couple of 02 sensor plugs, 2 more 02 sensors. And a new version of the green GPEC connector for the TCM. And if your truck uses a grey key, you’ll need a new key, a new SKIM module, take the PCM vin number and have a key cut for that vin and get a key code for the vin too

carlos loya no not plug and play at all. Lol. You need connectors, the pcm, a key and skim module (if equipped). And then all of the wiring has to be connected and then the truck has to be tune. It's a ton of work.

Logan Williams the 268 is a big cam. You can use factory NON MDS lifters, not MDS lifters, and I would upgrade to at least 6.1 pushrods and use the 6.1 exhaust valvesprings on all of your valvesprings. I would not recommend using anything lower than 6.1 grade stuff.

Well, I'm gonna be building my truck 05 quad cab eventually, including an "06-08 conversion" with coils on the front, awd, rear mount transmission, taking ~7" out of the bed, frame, and therefore wheelbase. and a dozen and a half other things. Either a turbo or supercharger, too. Down the line, at least. My main goal is to get a cam that isn't too harsh or lumpy, and still has balls below 3k. After all, this is a TRUCK we're talking about here. I'd like a cam that is ver versatile. Able to be ran N/A, turbo'd, or supercharged ((twin screw OR centrifugal)). I want it to make 400-500 wheel N/A, redline at 6600-6800, and shift at 6300-6500{or wherever would be best} while still having the widest possible power band that starts at a suitable RPM for a truck. Likely meaning equal torque and horspower numbers rather than one higher than the other. My end goal is 500-700 wheel HP minimum and equal-ish torque, and no more than 1300-1400HP. {{If it gets the snail, it'll be a big, single, twin-scroll turbo mounted in the bed.}} And ideas or tips on who to contact and just how much out of the blue such a goal might cost? {{Just the initial cam, heads, intakes, headers, exhaust, valves, springs, rods, lifters, rockers, etc. Not the turbo and other conversions. I know all of that is going to be expensive out the chizzang. But I'm building it in honor of my dad who recently passed, so money is somewhat no object, I'll just have to save for it.}}

Probably want to contact Arrington performance about that. It's gonna be a lot of work out of a 5.7 to make 500-600 whp. Not undoable. But expensive to say the least

Drunken Hamster if I had the money, I'd end up doing a 6.1 swap, forged internals, custom cam, headers, exhaust and tune to start with, maybe even do a 6.1 stroker to a 426. Plenty of power and rpm. There's lots to do really. Lots of companies out there doing things like that. It's just the money most people run into.

03-05 engines are the same - but if you have an 03 pcm. You’re gonna have major issues tuning it without the pcm swap.

Completely different tuning calibration. Just more tunability. The 03 you’d be lucky to tune it for a cam lol.

It’s a factory dodge color from 2003. If you called a dealer and told them you had a 2003 ram. They could probably give you the color code of that year and model.

10roadblock the 03 PCM with this cam is near impossible to tune, and if you do get someone to tune it, it’s not gonna be 100% right. I did the 2005 PCM conversion on this truck to make the truck run with the 2005 System and got it tuned. It worked wonders.

10roadblock you can convert the 03 harness to the 05, but it’s a lot of work. You can get an 05 harness and that will work. But I don’t believe the 6.1 cam will work even with the 03 computer

well im an electrical technician for dodge. so for me it wasn't too bad really.. for the average guy it would be a huge pain in the butt. mainly cause of the programming of the new pcm and having to use 5v reference wires from a shared sensor for a certain sensor. pretty complex.. but TOTALLY worth it.

well the pcm I found for 80.00 at a junk yard. I had a connector for a TCM conversion laying around in the shop. and the rest was labor on my end. and then 120.00 for my tuner guy to tune it.
