You look at Dorian and Ronnie's training and they trained brutally heavy to build their backs, yet Phil didn't have to do that. He did lighter weight and machines and still built a really quality back.

Both Dorian and Ronnie totally could've not fucked up their backs and still grown them to the same degree but they chose not to. They wanted to be tough guys and so that's what they did.

Not putting Phil down at all but to say theres no difference between what Ronnie was doing and what Phil was doing is just not true. Just look at Ronnies personal best deadlifts and squats. It was on another level completely. I think thats what the OP was getting at.

Yeah Ronnie has a lot of the shape and detail of Phil, but on a frame more like Dorians. His waist is super really small in his earlier years. That mix of big frame, shapely separated muscle and the ability to get crazy size is what makes him unmatched.@@usmantariq6494

Yates alone beats Coleman in FLS, BLS, ST, A&T. But that doesn't mean Dorian takes all these overall. He only beats Coleman in these. So: FLS, BLS, ST - Yates A&T - Jay SC - Levrone BDB, FDB - Coleman (maybe Roelly FDB) MM - Ruhl Coleman is good overall. Against best poses ever - not so easy... He takes two though. Phil is also good overall but as you can see, Phil has no pose above. But he can beat Dorian taking 4 poses and symmetry round.

Rear Double Bicep Ronnie unsymmetrical so I would give it to Nick. The biggest issue with Coleman was that midsection. I would have given the win to smaller more symmetrical guys who have not blown out their midsections. And to use the excuse 300lb in off season and moving heavy weight. Please Franco Columbo and Tom Plats moved huge weights themselves. Pound for pound nobody has ever moved what Franco deadlifted for his size, But they kept their midsection tight and did thousands of crunches, leg raises you name it. They knew they had to train abs everyday to keep their core intact. Ronney is exactly what bodybuilders should not do. Look at him today his body is so broken,Roney and Flex is the two biggest examples of what not to do in bodybuilding. Larry Scott, Samir, Serge Nubret, Dave Draper, Francis Benfato those are legends looking good till the end. They should be celebrated not Roney or Flex👎

He definitely got bigger than 194 natural. That might have been what he was when he started as a natural, but I believe he got up to 225 to 230 stage weight natural, that's what I have read as well. Then he went to steroids and got close to 300 competition weight, but 2003 was his best size with the conditioning, just unbelievable. That makes more sense anyway.

Most have 2003, but it's all perspective. It depends on what you're looking for. I understand why most have 2003 though, the size he had that year with that conditioning may never be replicated again. I get 99 too, but for different reasons. Almost nobody bodybuilder in history beats 99 either.
