They were always uppity with any Americans back then- and every other country to be honest. It’s like they see themselves as superior to the whole damn world. If they don’t win they sulk. Look at Sydney 2000 team awards. As far as I’m concerned they should have lost their medals for acting like that. Others certainly have!

+Lockon Stratos One of my all time favorite mounts on bars too! Its named after Elena Gurova of the Soviet Union. I really wish more people competed it but its probably not worth the risk in the new code. Which also explains all the boring mounts on beam.

I was at this meet and took pictures the old-fashioned way. The pages in my scrapbook contain a few from the awards ceremony with Carly on top. I had no idea what was in store! Ashley was from my gym so I focused on her. Only later did I fall in love with Zamo as a gymnast and realize I'd seen her!
