I have watched four or five different videos on replacement of sway bar ends. This one is by far the easiest to do. Spot on! Thank you

I watched a few of them too because I need to do mine next week. I saw the man take out the old end link without removing the sway bar bracket and bushing, but then he removed them to install the new end link. None of the other videos removed the sway bar bracket and bushing. So I wonder why he did it that way since it was unnecessary labor.

I just have to say this though I'm sure it's been said numerous times already but the styling which you made this video as well as essentially the quality of the finished product is better than in my opinion literally 99.9% of all mechanical instruction videos

You don’t want to completely squish your top link bushings when tightening . Pretty sure you are supposed to use a torque wrench to only like 35 ft-pounds or something.

If your just gonna replace the links it's easier to just jack it up remove both links so the sway bar can pivot up and down then reinstall the new ones to the lower control arm and reconnect both sides put definitely a good straight forward how to video cause useally u have to replace the bushing at the same time anyway
@happyhills_garage4 жыл бұрын
I was only doing the one side, so this way worked out for me in this instance. But that way does sound pretty efficient for doing both at the same time for sure.

Do you have to Jack the truck or you can do it while is on the ground?
@happyhills_garage4 ай бұрын
I did this on the ground, but my truck was leveled as well, so it may depend on your circumstances.

Torque wrench is not designed for removing bolts, really just adding wear to a precision tool.

The one between the top nut and bushing?

The one between the top bottom bushing and link arm.
@happyhills_garage3 жыл бұрын
@@phillippardo5712 gotcha, what I'd expect is more uneven wear in the center of the bushing and probably faster wear at that.

This does not look like a typical link. Most have an 8mm hex on the end of the thread at the botton nut to stop the joint spinning.

WD40 is NOT a lubricant....why do you keep spraying the rubber parts (bushings). All you're doing is accelerating the deterioration process. Why not use......um...the can of lubricant you have there???
@happyhills_garage3 жыл бұрын
I usually use the PB Blaster silicone lubricant spray, but was out of it at the time. Never used PB Blaster penetrant as a lubricant though, figure it'd be about the same result as wd 40. I also said to use lubricating fluid, not specifically WD40. Endlinks and sway bar bushings are still fine, so im not sweating it.
