You may have the factory amplified system and the factory Monsoon amp isn't turning on with the new radio. I'd suggest hooking up the blue / white wire to trigger that amp to turn on.

Sounds like you have monsoon Audio. You need to trigger the factory amp to turn on with the new radio. Is usually the harness adapter had a blue white wire that needs to be hooked up to the radio.

I'm doing an install on a 2006 Pontiac G6 GT and I have everything in the car so far and i tapped my fuse box for the A.C.C. power and my stereo boots up, and it works, however I get no sound from my speakers, i'm using just a harness alone in this situation. All wires were connected and tested with a multi-meter and all connections are solid, what could the issue possibly be, only two wires off the harness I left off and just capped them. Those being the solid orange and orange/white wire which are both the dimmer switch wires. My harness adapter only uses the blue connector in the car and the other black harness in the car i left un-used. Do you know what could possibly be the remaining issue in this system?

Sounds like your factory amp is not turning on. In the past, the pink OEM wire in the harness is your amplifier turn on wire which needs to connect to the blue/ white wire of the radio.

So as long as I run the Blue/White wire from my radio sides harness directly into the pink wire in the car harness, the radio will send enough power to trigger the amplifier and it will allow me to receive through my speakers?

It should, yes. It's a trigger wire, so it doesn't really need any more than 1 amp or so.

I'm trying to install this same unit into a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder (Infinity factory radio). The factor plugs are separated into two different ones. I have the main one set, but what do I do with the other one? As it stands I really only hook up to about 4-5 wires on the primary plug. Pretty lost on this since all videos I find on my car never show them installing double dins. Any pointers?

Since you have the factory Infinity sound system, the other harness you are talking about are your pre-out signal wiring to your factory amp. You will need this harness: Metra 70-7003 www.amazon.com/Metra-70-7003-1994-2004-Mitsubishi-Integration/dp/B00377KW7E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1471490950&sr=8-1&keywords=Metra+70-7003 That other plug you are talking about, this Metra harness connects into it and the other end rca plugs into your double pre outs on the Pioneer radio. The primary plug supports powering the unit.

Question - the data signals you describe when the stereo is successfully removed: are you referring to the signals on the dashboard? (i.e. Low tire pressure, low fuel, etc)? if so, when the new Pioneer stereo is plugged in and functioning, does it also display on the screen? the factory stereo does with the Pontiac does obviously with my 2008 G6, this was one of my questions prior to attempting this install.

No, GM uses a data signal, or a canbus system to relay information across multiple components in the vehicle. Essentially instead of an all analog system, they use a data signal within the car. It isn't an easy swap since this install requires the adapter to convert the signal from the car and make it readable for the new radio. This does not retain the low tire pressure, fuel notifications on the new radio, usually the idatalink maestro can retain that as long as your new radio is compatible.

Sounds like you may have the factory amplified system and the amp isn't turning on. Depending on the year, that factory remote turn on wire may be different, but you will need to locate that wire and connect your new radio's remote turn on wire to it.

When you do the wiring. I tapped my Igntion wire and hooked that up to the harness (yellow). Hooked up my red wire. And hooked up every other wire correctly. But there are 3 wires left. 2 green wires and a pink wire. Where do Those go? My stereo won't even come on.

The yellow wire is a constant wire, which be connected to a power source hot all the time. The red wire is is your ignition wire, on only when the key is turned on in the ignition, and be sure to ground the black. Any one of those three incorrectly wired and your radio will not turn on. Start there.

The red wire will need to hook into any source in the fuse box that is on ignition switched power (only on when the key is on). Use a multi meter to determine the best one. I would also use an "add-a-circuit" adapter to safely tap into the fuse box.

ignition wire is the wire that trigger the radio to turn on when you start the car. The harness adapter not only retains the chimes, but also retains warning sounds, turn signal sounds, etc that are needed for other components in the car.

Long green wire was just spare wire i had left over. I used that long green wire to extend the reverse wire (Purple / White) wire on the pioneer all the way back to the rear of the car and tapped it into the + on the reverse light. On the bypass, the dark green wire connects into the parking brake wire, a bright green wire on the radio.

I got the axxess 2103 nav interface. Best buy told me this would work as well as a few other sources. The instruction manual it came with also said it would work. But on another website it says it won't work. Not sure what to do because I would hate to install it all just to have to order another interface and plug the old stereo back in lol.

One more question. Almost done with the install and using a boyo back up camera. Do I need to use the reverse indicator wire since this head unit has a dedicated backup camera input? If your video cable has also a red wire with it, just tie that red wire from the backup camera video cable into the radio's reverse wire. The other end of the video cable, attach the red wire to the reverse light along with the power and ground for the camera itself. So the radio will be triggered to show the camera when the reverse light is on as well as the camera receiving power. hopefully that helps!

Provo Beast Audio Installation On pioneer head unit the long green wire actually says parking brake. The reverse trigger wire is just a short purple wire that I wired into the harness. Should I use the long green parking brake wire to tap into the taillight or should I extend the purple rear trigger wire the twilight.

Well, if your harness adapter provides the reverse wire trigger, then the red wire on your back up camera view cable will not be needed. Just tape it off. Do not connect the parking brake to the reverse lights.

Depending on the radio, yes. You would need to hook the camera into power that is on by the key, typically an ignition source, not just when the car is in reverse (because it currently would pull it from the reverse light). Depending on the radio, you then would be able to manually select the camera and see the image.

Yes, you will still need a wiring harness adapter or else you will have to tap into switched power at the fuse box for the ignition source since it isn't located at the harness. The benefit of the adapters is that it keeps the red factory turn on wire.

+Calleigh F It did have the Monsoon system, but before I installed this radio, best buy worked on the radio for the customer before and decided to instead of integrate the factory amp, they just bypassed it. I would suggest keeping the factory amp and ordering the correct harness. Best way to know what to order would be thorugh crutchfield of sonic electronics. hello! i have the same head unit, bypass, and camera that you are installing here. I have a 2011 Kia soul. my question: The wire that gets connected to the reverse light, where do I connect that on my wiring harness? I bought a pioneer avh2800bs and there is a long green wire that is labeled parking break (that I connect to the triple pulse bypass) and there's a short purple wire labeled reverse gear signal. I want the back up camera to automatically pop up on my pioneer screen without having to go to camera options. thanks for any help!!!

The wire that went from the radio to the reverse light connects to the pioneer's purple and white wire (the reverse gear trigger wire) so that when the car is in reverse, the radio switches to the back up camera mode. The long green wire is suppose to connect to your parking brake, but since you have the bypass, connect that long green wire to the bypass green wire, the bypass black wire to ground, and bypass blue wire to the blue / white wire on the pioneer. This will enable you to view video while in motion.

We used the 16-18 gauge butt connectors. I choose crimping over soldering just for the ease, speed, and secure connection. Crimping as its advantages as those who struggle to solder properly will end up with broken connections, shorts, a mess.

I don't, sorry. It wasn't too hard to replace the cigarette lighter with the AUX / USB flush mount adapter. It just pops out with clips after you pop up the panel while the radio is out.

Not according to the way it was wired in this video. You would have to wire the backup camera directly to an ignition source so that the camera will power up when the vehicle is on, not just when in reverse. This will give you the option to view behind you via the camera other times as well (if your radio is compatible with that feature)

It has to do with the harness you got. You have to order the correct cord from the manufacturer.

I don't, Just remove the factory power access point and insert the AUX/USB adapter. They are the same size, so should fit perfectly. When the dash bezel is out, you should be able to reach around underneath behind the cigarette lighter to unplug it, pop it out, and wire in the adapter.

Are you referring to the screen or the size of the radio? As long as it is a standard double din (4" tall), regardless of screen size, there is a kit for it and should fit fine.

You have asked a similar question on a different video. Remember, the volume is all relative to the company that manufactures them. One Company's radio with a max volume of 40 may be just as loud as another company's radio producing a max volume of 60. The better measurable comparison is the actual power output made by the radio as this dual Bluetooth Pioneer radio produces 14 watts RMS each channel / speaker. In my option, yes it is a great radio for the price.
