When you take the belt off around @6:47, what bolt did you loosen or remove? Thanks for making this. I'm trying to revive a 2007 prius from the salvage yard. Doing it in my backyard in winter. 😅 And its my first engine swap. Im turning your video into a step by step manual i can print out, and eventually follow in reverse.
@ValleyMobileAutomotive20 күн бұрын
Good idea making it into a manual! I also have the installation in part two 👍. For the belt tensioner you loosen the 14mm pulley bolt and there is a 12mm bolt in the front attached to the tensioner pulley bracket. turn that counter clockwise and it will loosen the belt. Happy wrenching! If you have anymore questions feel free to post them in the comments 👍

Hello, great video. Can you give more info as to where you got the engine from.

@@shombraewinston9806 If you Google search "JDM engines" you will find there are quit a few distributors. They all seem to be very similar. I purchased mine from Sunshine State JDM.

Very impressive wrenching Bro!

Thanks! This was easier than anticipated 👍. The manual says the engine comes out of the bottom but apparently it also comes out of the top 😀

I also have to remove the transaxle in mine. Im debating if I should remove the transaxle or engine first. I was thinking I could pull the transaxle from the top if the engine was out but I'm not sure if that would be easier 🤔 any thoughts?
@ValleyMobileAutomotive6 ай бұрын
@@michaels2251 I haven't tried pulling the tranny out at the same time as the engine. But it should be super easy once the engine is out. Remove the inverter and see what the trans might hit if you come straight up with it. If you try let us know 👍

Hey! I have a question! I recently replaced my timing cover gasket on my 2007 Toyota Prius I put everything back together got it torqued down and when I went to start it all the codes popped up and will not erase 😢 I also cannot drive the car either so I am rly lost and struggling with it right now
@ValleyMobileAutomotive6 ай бұрын
If you disconnected the hybrid battery make sure the service plug is in all the way. What codes do you have specifically?
@tallanmedeiros23796 ай бұрын
@@ValleyMobileAutomotive my speedometer is off the break light and every other light is on, on the dashboard. I did disconnect the service plug before I work on the car then I finished and plugged it back in and that’s when I saw my dashboard and saw everything lit like a Christmas tree 😪 haha tough day

@@Sic3r Play with how much you are lifting on the engine with the hoist. You may need to lower the engine more or lift up on it more. Also try putting a jack under the transmission and jack up a little to give it support. Let me know how it goes 👍

@@Sic3r Nice! It's a tight fit coming out. When you put the engine in you'll need to play with the angle so the transmission and flywheel splines line up 👍
