I just want to say I watched your video probably 10 times then watched it step by step and I want to say thank you. I had this problem where I was not getting my front and rear running lights and that's a major issue because I leave my house around 5:30 every morning. The way you explain it step by step even allowed an idiot like me when it comes to this stuff and I got my lights working. Genius, ty kind sir for the elementary walk through because i am not good with wiring, I didn’t have a extra relay handy so to test this I jumped the first site you mention to the relay straight to battery ground they all turned on, I haven’t been able to drive my truck at night for a while, previous owner had all the rear wires tore apart and even ran a led light for tail lights

I was looking for a simple work around that would be easy. There are other ways as you can imagine such as running a control wire from that park lamp relay into the cab and grounding it through a toggle switch but tge drive would have to remember to turn it on and off. I was thinking of using the dash light signal to control the relay but that would require disassembly of the dash to access that circuit. This is automatic and fairly easy to do. just curious.,,, could you not take that first red wire that your soldered to pin 85 on the relay, and add a male terminal and stick that in slot 85 on an unused relay socket? or maybe just to the fender? it's just to provide ground, correct?

My 04 1500 trailer park lights failed where there is no power on the right side of the 20amp fuse socket with switch on. Adding a 12v jumper to the left side of the fuse socket lights the circuit. Do you know if the trailer marker light relay is the same one in your video, or is it on the circuit board?

I'm not sure but I'll have a look at the circuit. So the trailer running lights don't work but the truck park lights work fine.

ty did as told and worked but o2 sensor engine light code comes on now if i unhook wire from spare engine light turns off but no tail lights again any suggestions

What if you had it running from 87 to a toggle switch in the truck an that stopped working does that mean tipms really dickered. I replaced toggle switch power/ground wire an got a new relay still no back light brake lights but no running lights

Do all the parking lights not work or just the rear lights? Any codes in the TIPM?

Only light that works is right low beam haha I still have turn signals, high beams a brake lights I scanned it an no codes I figure new tipm but thought I’d ask before spending the money

@jordan-rb1lo are you scanning the TIPM or just tge PCM? You should have codes in the TIPM. It likely is a failed TIPM. Can you make the park light come on by jumping pins 30 and 87 on the park lamp relay? This should not affect the headlights so you likely have more than one problem. Park lamp fuse ok?

Hows it going im dealing with this same issue on my folks 05 ram 5.7 Laramie. Front driver parking light and rear driver brake lights dont work. I found #34 10amp fuse blown shows left tail lights. As soon as i relace it n turn parking lights on the fuse blows. I tried disconnecting rear taillight and no go. Even disconnected an led tailgate strip. DO U THINK THIS TRICK MIGHT HELP? Truck is rust free btw 85k miles truck drives and looks mint

No this fix is for a park lamp relay that won't turn on. That's not your problem. You have a short to ground on the left side park circuit. I'd recommend connecting a headlight in place of tge fuse. Turn tge park lights on. If tge headlight is on bright the short is present. There is a large connector behind the left front wheel. Unplug it and if the headlight goes out or very dim the short is in the rear of the truck. If not then it's in the front.

@PhillipBailey so I found a wire that was resting on the hitches frame it was rubbing I believe it's from the taillight wiring. Fixed that everything works now.

Is the park lamp relay turning on? If you bypass the relay do they work? Should be power to pin 30 of the relay and with it jumped to 87 the two park lamp fuses should have power, fuse 32 and 34? What circuit boards did you replace?

Wow time to get laughed at, I was so frustrated trying to figure this out that I completely bypassed step 1. Fuse 32 and 34 were blown, thank you so much and please have a good laugh at my expense thanks again!!!

I tried it with 3 different relays but they all would buzz when i plugged them in and the lights didn't turn off when i took the key out im gana try the jump from 86 to 87 and see if there is a difference next

85 and 86 are the control pin for the relay, don't jump either of these to anything. To bypass the park lamp relay jump 30 to 87. That should turn on the park lamps.

I took my box to work and tested the tipm and I had continuity like your other video on the subject so I believe that the drivers in the pcm are bad then, am I correct in thinking that

I'm gana try that tomorrow just run a jumper wire from 30 slot to the 87 slot? They did turn on when I wired it with the other relay but it made the relay buzz like an old door buzzer and it didn't turn off with the key out of the ignition

Replaced the entire fuse/relay box with no luck, then tried the relay bypass and once again no luck.

need to properly diagnose it rather than trying parts. I would suspect a wiring problem. does the park lamp relay turn on with the park lamps. with the relay out do you have power to pin 30 of the relay? If not check the fuses. jump pins 30 and 87 of the park lamp relay, do the park lamps come on?

There is a much simpler solution to this and doesn't need an extra relay. Make a small jumper and take power from the spare relay 86 slot to 87 on the taillight relay slot. No need for the extra relay. Spare relay power will power the taillights directly instead of using it to activate an extra relay. There is a fuse after that relay so everything is protected.

Great video, do you happen to have or know somewhere online i can get the schematic for a 04 dodge ram 1500 hemi? For the rear tail lights,brake,turn, running, I got new oval led lights off of Amazon, it says they will work, i guess they're actually trailer lights but said for trucks n other vehicles, only has a red, white n black wire, wht it s ground, n says red brake i believe n blk turn, but says u can wire red n white together for bright leds n wht n blk for less brightness, i don't know, i can't get them to work right, i think I may need a trailer conversion kit from doing research, any help is greatly appreciated. I watched more of your vids and subscribed.
