Nice X! Do you have standard 8,8" rear differential or you make change to Dana diff? I have exactly the same model of Explorer and try to find information about real using of PowerTrax No-Slip diffs. Do you install it by yourself or it was made at service? Any difficulties obtain while installing? As a real user of this type of diff do you recommend to install it? How it goes on smooth surface in town and on a highway? Thanks and best regards, Leo

Leonid Antonenko The PowerTrax is one of my favorite mods I've done to the rig! Highly recommend it along with BTF UCAs if you do a lot of off roading. I had a friend who is a mechanic help with install. As far as normal street use the locker is pretty tame. You'll get tires screeching if it's a tight turn on an incline or smooth surface but can be totally avoided with light throttle. Normal driving on normal asphalt it's fine no ratcheting sounds at all. Love mine

Thanks for your reply! So you had installed PowerTrax inside your stock 8.8" rear diff shell? Or you have to change it for some other shell? Do you change main gear or leave the stock one?

Leonid Antonenko The powertrax was installed inside my stock 8.8 diff. Just removed the factory LSD and installed it

Harmeet Sidhu I got the lift from BTF-Fabrication.com it's about 3inch lift and it's easy if you are experienced mechanic
