I always have intended on acquiring a Ford Excursion,it might happen some time this year.I am already familar with the Triton and Powerstroke.I love the 5.4L & 6.8L,I currently have a 2002 V10 F-450 that has 385,000 Miles on it,the 2 Valve is bulletproof.Last year I had a 2003 5.4L F-350 XLT with 297,000 Miles.Even though the TWD Excursion is the one with the 5.4L,I still would not mind owning one,a Conversion to 4×4 is not impossible.For the 4×4 Excursion,I don't mind if it has the 6.8L V10 or 7.3L-6.0L.I have had several 7.3L's and a few 6.0L's.The 6.0L does have it's errors while still having more Torque,while the 7.3L is indestructible and will go as many miles as I want it to.If do purchase one of these,I'm going with a 4-5 Inch Lift Kit and 37×12.50 Michelins.

I have a 2001 excursion with 180k miles. I’d like to do a similar build for back country truck camping. Stock suspension sucks off-road though. I lived out of my truck for a few weeks before and solo was comfortable. Next With all the back seats down I want to build a raised floor for the sleeping area (plenty of room for two, ask me how I know lol) and a few doors on the floor for storage. Only problem is the 2nd row seats don’t lay level with the back, and with two kids still I need to be able to flip up the 2nd row.

I would like to know what the expense was for doing everything at the Fab shop? I have a 2002 with 105000 miles and am looking at rebuilding engine with doing a suspension that rides great on road, tows equipment (bobcats) still can push snow and take camping riding ATV's as well as tow one of my boats (38' Donzi or 42' Fountain) I do all of these things now with my Ex. Just truck rides rough and I am looking for that horsepower. I am from Maryland and seriously looking for a shop that can do exactly what you have done without breaking my rear! Lets face it if I wanted to just spend without a care I could drop off with Diesel brothers and give them 40 K, I am trying to do this and get a good deal, from someone that wants my truck to send them at least 10 other trucks, for the right price I would drop off one of my 2015 to 2018 f-350's that I have for my company trucks. I ask because they did a excellent job with your Ex. and work looks really solid which is something hard to find in Maryland. Thanks for your time, rmidsouth73@gmail.com.

Curious that they did not relocate the FASS pump. It would be the first thing in my mind, because all the offroad capability is pointless, if the first thing to be torn off by a rock or ledge is the one item that will strand you.
@johnmccalmont96407 жыл бұрын
You know we did end up relocating that, not only for the obvious fact that it was sitting down to low, But also because it was to loud! It ended up farther back and higher. Good observation!

Sky's the limit... Z bar or 4 link with some real airbags... Not a bolt on helper bag on leafs.
@johnmccalmontvo6 жыл бұрын
Not sure I know why you felt the need to make that comment? Not everyone needs that level of modifications. The bags on the rear were perfect to level out the EX with a trailer on it and the suspension and ride rocked. Normally with a Z bar or 4 link your going a lot higher and I did not want to go that high with this one.
@extremepoweraddicts29786 жыл бұрын
@@johnmccalmontvo I didnt mean to come off like a jerk if it seemed that way... Not my intention.. I'm a big diesel fan specifically superduty/excursion platform. I do lots of automotive modifications (for myself) many people dont know about the simplicity of these modified suspension systems that completely change the way the vehicle handles and rides (in a good way) if someone reads my comment and decides to research he may like what he finds... I'm just a vehicle enthusiast who likes sharing ideas. Many people can't spend thousands on a z bar or link system I understand that aswell.. But they are very simple to design and diy build fairly cheap (if you weld even better, I pay for this service) I linked my excursion.. Side steps sit 10 inches from ground. I have 100k miles on the system. Your ride hieght was perfect for a z bar... So when I saw it I was like dang I would love to see a z bar on that excursion haha.

+John McCalmont I mean don’t get me wrong, the Truck looks bad ass and the bumper looks awesome. It’s just that the Grill makes the Truck look plain to me when your looking at the Truck from the front. Maybe if there’s a way of putting a converted grill from the Newer Ford model Trucks and painting it a mat black. I could see it making the Truck look complete and visually pleasing from the front. I really see it looking good if that could happen. Just my thought💭. Or maybe adding some type of Design or Logo to the Grill and yes also paint the inside black. Also give it a thought of maybe repainting it a Mat Black to match the awesome bumper. Just my thought💭 again.
