In 1970 in a small town in Texas. I saw a 1969 mercury marquis fitted with a special fuel tank that was pressurized in which the gasoline was heated up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Before being fed into the engine intake manifolds being controlled by a valve connected to the accelerator pedal. The Demonstration that followed for the local press had 2 measured gallon placed in the car , and reporter drive the car around a track until it ran out. The car covered 200 miles at speeds up to 70mph. I always wonder what became of that research and development.

That man was shot but didn't die the first time , few years later they shot and killed him after a compnay said they would buy his design. The company ended up being fake. You can find it pretty easy with google. I'm just going off memory but yeah, there's video of the huge boat he fitted the system too. 100 miles per gallon in the 70's.

Nothing happened. Because none of that happened. Heating gasoline wont increase your mpg much if at all. The power it would take to heat the gasoline would negate any mpg gain that could be had.

Hi. this video brings back memories forcme. In high school I had a old V.W dune buggy ( Manx ) that I did the same thing to. a little different set up but the same concept. And also a class mate in the same science class also installed a stainless steel vapor chamber in has Datsun B210, it was really cool and we did a lot of different set ups on the car and performed numerous experiments with his car. We did lots of gas milage test and also speed testing. hot and cold testing, stopping and turning, you name it, we did it. The B210 got about 90 to 100 miles per gallon, we pretty much felt we could have increased it a bit more if we could have odimized the fuel a little better? and the Buggy even had better mileage due to the weight of the vehicle, it was made of fiber glass so it was pretty lite, plus it was air cooled which helped increase the milage also. We were able to get about 120 to 130 m.p.g on average. Thanks for showing this video. it brings back alot of good memories for me. We did this back in 1984 and I thought at the time for sure that in the future we would see cars getting 200 m.p.g or even more. But we a fighting a up hill battle with the oil companies on that one. Now it's all about the electric vehicles. but I can see someone making a natural gas vehicle that could get 200 m.p.g or more. Maybe I should find my old papers and start tinkering again. That would be fun. Take care. and Thanks again. Hawk out!!

Actually back in the 70s the oil companies were trying to crack this technology and came up just as short as anyone else. GM, FORD, Chrysler all have similar devices patented. They all ran into the same brick wall The government holds the rights to any parent and can seize any idea in the name of the public good if this thing were. being suppressed they would never have granted the patent and you would never have heard of Tom Ogle. He would have been made to keep quiet about it. That's the way it works I sold patents in the 80 I know some of the higher ups in the office Didn't stop me from experimenting

Lightweight truck lots of torque great gas mileage. Engine didn't have to work hard My motorhome is only 20 feet but it has a V10 and gets 15 mpg. That's not bad for a motorhome. You should do some research on Smokey Yunick's Hot Vapor Engine; it super heats and vaporizes the fuel via engine coolant heat exchanger, and then hot exhaust gas and compression, and uses a carburetor instead of fuel injection. Really neat setup, basically get the fuel up to the same temp as the exhaust and run it pretty lean and it seems to be really stable. I don't think he ever fully explained exactly how it worked or the full specifics of the design, though.
@Alyoha

Fantastic job! If I may add couple of remarks I would recommend following. 1. Add at least one more hose (because You need to maintain stechiometric ratio of fuel and air) and that'll help to idle correctly. 2. Add tall bubbler between canister and intake- and this will keep liquid fuel from being sucked into engine while accelerating. There are more improvements of course, like as splitting air and fuel vapor supply, adding air dryer (so Ur fuel wont catch moisture from air and keeps vaporizing faster) and adding heat pipes connected to engine cooling system. Sky is the limit here. Anyways, my best compliments!

THIS also works on fuel injection cars. the car will see it's running well without the injectors and adjust itsself accordingly you can watch the mpg meter in some fuel injection cars go way up past 99 mpg it's a very useful way But agian it's dangerous as it can sometimes make the car think the engines about to blow up and trigger something called limp mode and the injectors actually stop working a simple battery reset can fix it but backfiring while having a fuel cell is dangerous in itsself limp mode likes to backfire . make sure to have a check valve letting air go one way but once it backfires it shuts due to the back pressure and make sure to have a pop off valve so you dont blow up your intake .

Doing this on fuel injected cars is completely foolish the computer cannot account for intake air that can run the engine after it dials back the injectors it's going to shut off or go into limp mode every time. Also the efficiency would be so high that it would throw a code and ignore the O2 sensor

If you read any tuning manual, running an engine as lean as possible might achieve maximum performance, but could burn a hole in a piston, or burn a valve. You see a certain amount of fuel is required to be in the cylinder during the compression stroke that can moderate the balance between power, efficiency, and heat. I think hydrogen injection with gas present could be a viable situation. I know a guy that added water injection to his Datsun B210 in 1979 and he kept detailed records of his fuel mileage. He claimed that he was getting 38-40 miles per gallon Highway with the water injection verses 28 MPG without.

So I've always loved this idea and I have always thought of new ways to do it, If you make another video about this and you want to improve it try putting marbles at the bottom of your gas can. Maybe 2 or 3 inches and then lead your fuel line into your your can, then you can put a put a switch on your fuel pump for refills. Keep going, love it.

Man, looking at the comments shows me just how dead skeptical curiousity is. On the one hand, our physics models do a good job of explaining and predicting the natural phenomena around us, and have survived a lot of negation - this includes the incredible body of knowledge around using combustion as a mechanical and thermal energy source. On the other hand, we must always guard against orthodoxy in the face of contradictory information. Many of these videos have proven to be false, or the engines die under even a moderate load, and several have refused to allow engineers to look under the hood, but I came over from a video of a guy that stuck a $5 PVC gasoline bong in a lawnmower's intake and got a 3% efficiency increase. We need negation, we need controls, and we need a lot of cars rigorously inspected and installed with several iterations of these alongside cars in a control group. Optimism tempered by rigorous application of negation and the scientific method, in the open where orthodox engineers can't unconsciously sabatoge or upend the experiment and where these backyard mechanics can't pull any hoodwinks, and at the least where we can see the iterations of the idea played out over significant time spans to see what it does to different intake manifolds and cylinder heads. What we don't need is orthodoxy and reaction in endless contempt of each other. We can say that dunking palladium wafers in deuterium under certain conditions produces flashes of heat and we don't know why without going 5 miles off the rails and screaming about government cabals and coverups. Same here. Temper your skepticism with humility and temper your zealotry with some doubt. All of you have been hoodwinked before.

Since you seem to have a truck you are not afraid to experiment with, maybe you could place a little propane tank under the hood then run the hose through the air cleaner, and see if this will run the car. I've designed and built a similar system but took off fuel rail and hooked it into a box with a spray nozzle connected to it. Spraying gas on stainless steel brillo then the fumes would be sucked in through the air intake system, also had a return line on the bottom of the box with a small electric pump attached runing back to the gas tank. Had it on my father's 89 gmc long wheel base and it was averaging about 88mpg. Note tho your right kid it does want to stall out at normal idle but is easily fixed by adjusting ur idler to around 1100-1200 rpm. Dramatic horsepower increase like this too for all u power heads out there.

Here in the country I live in we put extenda tablets in our fuel tanks and run the fuel line through a Pyramid fuel pre conditioner and a HHO system with a re mapped control chip with a Sukisinzakabana O2 sensor for added Zion control. It all works very well but the more kilometers you drive the longer time you have to waste in a gas station emptying fuel out of your tank. The government is at present trialing a helicopter defueling system to lessen the time motorists have to waste emptying their fuel tanks.

Henry Raymond hi. I’ve been studying this idea for yrs now. I’ve never heard of vapours making a engine run hot. It burns to quick in the cylinder . I do like this concept. Turn of the pump. Hmmm. How about have the pump on a switch so you can turn it on to start and off while cruising. Also needed is to circulate the fuel from fuel tank so it doesn’t get stale and also heat the air coming into the bubbler so it doesn’t freeze. Nice job.

JRESHOW- Nice job, the truth is always very simple, sometimes so simple that people have a hard time believing it. We have been lied to about everything and once you realize this the truth starts to come out. Engines DON'T run on fuel ( gasoline ) they run on air, air is the power source , the fuel just ignites the compressed air, your experiment proves this point. Think about a turbo charger or super charger, where does the HP come from when you install one ? From the extra air being rammed into the cylinder, your gas mileage stays about the same but now you have 20-50% more HP. Also if you have ever seen a diesel engine have what a believe they call runaway, the engine spools up to very high RPM's until the engine blows or the air supply is cut, not the fuel supply, people have shut off the fuel and the engines still continues to rev, it's the air supply which is the real power source that needs to be cut to kill the engine. So for those knuckleheads that think the car companies would have already come up with this, they are right, they have know this for ages but don't want you know. It's all about taking as much wealth away from us and giving it back to them. So let's assume what I'm saying is true, then if you could find another way to ignite the compressed air in the cylinder with say a battery as the power source to create a spark , you could run your car off the battery which in turn can be charged with the engine. I know all the knuckleheads will be laughing saying but they would have already invented this and passed it onto us, THEY would never hold that back....time to wake up, you have been living in a dream world just like in the Matrix. I will leave it at that for now...Peace

Man listen to that pre-detonation just on startup. You can tell the engine is not happy at all. Save a few bucks on gas, reduce engine life by 90% lol. Even if your contraption works, you can't just do this to a modern engine without some tunning. Your fuel trims must be extremely lean and if you drove this thing for a while, it's for sure blown up by now.

Ok so there's a lot of KZbin videos on running a engine on gasoline vapors. The idea is to disable your fuel pump, connect a partly filled gas can with air holes to your air intake to get something like 100 mpg. From what I've heard, there's a massive power loss & it's prone to stalling if you try to floor it. I've never done any of this but i have a theory that if you were to connect a (gas safe) hose to a fish tank aerator with a bubble stone, it would create more vapors due to the bubbles. I'm curious if it would help the stalling & power loss problem. Have you tried any of this or have thoughts on what it might do?

Everything has its price though, such as riding a motorcycle is fun but the price can be enormous. That will work and actually a person can just use rubber heater hose and run from the filler neck on their gas tank to their intake on their engine, but heres the price tag, and that is if your engine ever back fires it causes an explosion same as dynamite. That means you would explode while in your vehicle as it literally is the same as a dynamite exposion. To do this safely would be to design a return blockage valve in case of backfire, but what if the valve sticks?

Fuel vaporizing carburetors have been around since the 40's, especially on farm equipment. They are more efficient at low loads and idle, but as soon as evaporation begins to drop temperature of the fuel the gain is diminished to nil. Add the fact you're bypassing gasoline's lubricity with vaporization and you're going to introduce hot points in the cylinders that will warp and damage aluminum heads. Believe me, the gas you saved will be much less than it costs to replace or resurface your heads. Manufacturers get huge tax breaks from making more fuel efficient vehicles, not to mention consumer sales. If vaporization technology was more efficient, safer, and more compatible with modern engine metallurgy than new direct gasoline injection systems believe me, they would be using them. Without offsetting the cooling effects of vaporization with a system to heat the fuel, you're essentially just creating a fire hazard. Also, please don't heat the gas unless you have access to high octane (100+ RON) fuel because you're just going to further endanger yourself and others doing something that has already been tried with a much higher budget and understanding of stochiometrics. Research patents and the history of fuel systems in internal combustion engines before you mislead uninformed people into believing you're some type of modern Tesla.

+K31TH3R Lubricity? Tell that to the refineries who make ULSD, then sell the sulfur to be burned in fireworks. With no need for injectors or a fuel pump I'd say lubricity is not an issue. If you're talking about valves getting lubricated, that's the job of engine oil, which liquid gasoline will dilute, just like it dilutes the oil in all of the engine and leads to frequent oil changes. Cooling? Vapor only will never run your engine at temperatures that are too hot for you to touch. Evidence of hot spots can be seen in the water jackets of many engines with their injectors in place. It's called galling and pitting. That's what happens when ethylene glycol as a coolant thermal efficiency is very poor. Courtesy, EFI. Next.... Octane? George Wiseman, who is one of very few mechanics willing to say "Fuck You" to all conventional theory, has run many engines on vapor only at many operating speeds and loads with absolute zero sign of knocking and pinging. This indicated that gasoline vapor resists knocking. Stochiometrics? That only applies to liquid gasoline, which is what EFI delivers to the engine. Vapors can burn at ratios beyond 200:1. If for whatever reason we wanted to still feed liquid fuel to an engine, then we can lean the AF ratios to 40:1 if a plasma ignition system is in place instead of the factory pile-of-shit weak spark technology we have been duped into thinking is innovative. Fire hazard? Gasoline is a fire hazard in and of itself. Auto manufacturers only increase fuel efficiency when our government says they have to. The rate of progress on their part is slower than evolution. Research on patents shows that each and every one was quickly bought out by the oil companies for huge dollar amounts, only to be buried. What does that say? It's not because simple people fooled them. That kind of stupidity means their entire operation would have never existed since they would lack the competence to run any business. But rather, way too much money would be lost. Oil companies make one thing, fuel. Of course other products like tar and plastic are made from oil but on the topic of vehicles we're talking about fuel unless engine oil is being brought into the equation. They do not make anything else. They do not have a a factory of people assembling all of these products they were so quick to buy out the patents for. Only auto makers can do this and in order for oil companies to profit from this they would have to see some royalties from the auto makers in the selling of each vehicle with one of these patented products in use. This would drive the cost of the vehicle through the roof. It's simply much cheaper to buy these patents, bury them, and continue selling fuel to vehicles that consume it 10x faster than they actually need to. By the way, bypass oil filtration kits can extend oil change intervals to well beyond what the factory recommends. The worst claim I have seen is 20,000 miles. The best I have seen is never change your oil again. :D So tell us, who do you work for?

This would be more plausible if an Air/Fuel Ratio gauge were involved to make sure you aren't burning up ring lands. It would be a complete savings if you threw some type of pre-mixer off of a two stroke with Bel Ray H1R, AMSOIL Dominator, or Castor 927 and tuned it to a stoichiometric ratio that would not leave you with either "sparkly sparkplugs" (that's your pistons saying goodnight) or no electrode. I've seen both when people get greedy with power on regular cars. Plus you're loosing the lubricity that keeps the injectors alive, and they can come apart to get inside your engine like this. Maybe unplug them so they won't see 3x duty cycle dry? I would easily try this on a cheap 4 cylinder carbureted or TBI'd car though (early S-10, Fiero, Citation). Right now, I'm planning on going with Hydrogen injection from Aquatune on an LSX, which uses water as supplementary fuel and keeps the stock fuel system in place to keep everything together. It's a grand to start, but with over 300k on the truck it should pay for itself and is easily swap able to my next wreck. Cool idea, but take caution

This concept becomes a daily driver when you use WICKING SHEETS. The bubbling effect works, but the gas loses efficacy. A wicking Box with a float(like a carb. to add fuel to system keeps you running long term) separated by a wall chamber with a channel for level to be equal but separate at the bottom. Also add another container with a bubbler setup for Water. Thats Right H O² .

+Bob Schaffer Oh, please.... don't be so arrogantly condescending, I'll have you know, people who swear are more intelligent than the ones who do not. The study, a joint effort of psychologists at Marist College and the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, found that people who swear more may actually have stronger language skills overall than those who don't.They reached this conclusion by pitting two popular theories against each other:A folk assumption about colloquial speech is that taboo words are used because speakers cannot find better words with which to express themselves: because speakers lack vocabulary. A competing possibility is that fluency is fluency regardless of subject matter-that there is no reason to propose a difference in lexicon size and ease of access for taboo as opposed to emotionally neutral words. If old-fashioned swear haters are right, participants fluent in swearing should have had trouble coming up with the neutral words but that's exactly the opposite of what happened.Instead, those who listed the most curse words were consistently able to list the most words in other associative trials-showing an undeniable connection between swearing skills and a larger overall vocabulary.
