Let me elaborate. Some people seem to misconstrue what the purpose of this video is. I never said it was a huge difference for one. For two, being simply billet or cast has no bearing on the spooling or overall power produced. The difference is the design on the compressor wheel. This billet turbo has a better designed compressor wheel, it spools a tad bit quicker and flows a little more air. It pulls a little better in the 5000-6000 range. The initial hit of boost isn’t as hard but the additional power is noticeable. A huge difference? No. Worth the difference in price? Ehhh. I guess if a couple more mph without extra boost pressure means something to you. All in all, it probably is worth it but the cast wheel will still do a good just. The price for the cast wheel is $430 shipped and I got the billet for $516 shipped. You be the judge.

I think one of the biggest differences is the actual sound of the spool up and at full boost. I have a td04hl-15t on my car and switched out to a billet extended tip wheel, the spool sounded different compared to the cast one as well. The car used to noticeably fall off on power at 5500ish rpm and after it felt to carry a bit better. The power drop wasnt as noticeable either on but dyno or acceleration times. This was also with no changes to the tune it had.

IMO I think it made a big difference, I noticed

The billet seems a lot quieter, not as much whistle. 11 blade billet vs the 6 blade cast?

What were numbers like to the wheels if any to either set up if you remember if it ever got on a dyno eventually

Havoc Racing it’s not a huge difference. But I wasn’t expecting a huge difference. The billet turbo spools faster. I even took my 15 year old for a ride. I told him nothing about it except he saw me swapping it out. I nailed it today with him and his first reaction without me asking was “Dang! It spools a lot faster”. If you watch the directly compared, you’ll see the cast turbo takes off a spit second before (hard to get them in line at the same mph) and had a 1-2mph edge over the billet. By the time I get to 100mph the billet is ahead by 1-2mph. So if that equates to 2-4mph gain in the 1/4, that’s actually pretty decent. Unfortunately I’ll never know for sure because I haven’t run it yet. I had some tuning problems and detonation problems that has held me back. Got it all lined out and it seems to only be good on pump gas to about 8.5-9lbs as it is. That’s with 12 degrees timing up top. I plan on adding some boostane to it and turning the timing up a couple degrees and maybe adding a lb or two of boost. I have a 4 port solonoid for my boost controller that I still need to install. It’s got a 3 port now so it’ll only add so much. And I’d like to say, the video does not do it justice as to how hard it pulls. It’s just mainly for comparison purposes for me.
