Looking back in retrospect, Texas Tech was probably more worthy of a Cotton Bowl New Year's Day game. They played so well in this game and contrast to A&M's bad showing vs. Tennessee....... Heck, they had a better record than the Aggies.

Miss him! Leach is nothing but a one trick pony, sanctimonious kook and was defrocked as being anything special in the Autozone Liberty Bowl this past December by lowly Sonny Cumbie, who was a student, but now is Leach's master.

_Back when Texas Tech football was respected. Man, I miss Leach._ Your respect is misplaced, as is evidenced by Tech's shellacking of Leach in the Liberty Bowl this past December by the same Sonny Cumbie as is in this video, showing Leach is nothing but a sanctimonious, one trick pony, system implementer, not a coach.

Tech was a stronger team in 2004 than in 2013 with their personnel. Defeated the number 3 team in the nation University of California. Defeated a good Arizona State team in 2013 in the same bowl... Tech got their injured players back for the 2013 Holiday Bowl which made a significant difference for the game.

I remember in the time before this game, Aaron Rodgers & Cal were all butthurt & upset... Cal wasn't overrated. They literally lost all their receivers to injury and had to start true freshman for the bowl game. Rodgers had no chemistry on the fly.

Why didn't Sonny Cumbie pan out in the NFL?
@ericnelson41227 жыл бұрын
There are many reasons why good QB's don't pan out in the NFL. Sonny went to the arena league and was the best in the league while leading his team to a championship or 2 or 3. how many teams are in the NFL? 32? Well that is how many starting QB's there are in the NFL. 32 men on this Earth are starters in the pros.very few of those jobs open up each year.

@@ericnelson4122 Nobody in Leach’s system ever pans out in the nfl, the pass yards are deceiving because of the pass first and short pass.
@jesses54633 жыл бұрын
What are you all talking about "pan out in the NFL" ? Sonny Cumbie was never supposed to play in the NFL. he was undrafted, and before that was a college walk-on. Mike Leach gets the most out of his QBs and often helps them over-achieve greatly.

What do you call "making it"? Kliff was in an NFL uniform every Sunday on the sidelines for four years.So he couldn't beat out Tom Brady. Name someone that can? Graham Harrell was in a Green Bay uniform every Sunday for a number of years, but couldn't beat out Aaron Rodgers . Name someone who can?
