This is coming from a neutral fan, Oklahoma didn't deserve to be in this title game, It should've been LSU USC, Saban vs Carrol, if you don't win the conference, you don't deserve to play for the title. What did this game justice is LSU winning.

That LSU defense that year was an all time unit, and it’s undeniable OU was outclassed especially at the line of scrimmage. But going back watching this game, I can see flashes of why OU was ranked so highly throughout that season, this was an AMAZING football team up until the game vs Kstate.

Any Combination of Oklahoma USC LSU AND Michigan could have and probably would have been a great CFP

Oklahoma would have been better off and might have had a chance to win this game had backup QB Paul Thompson got the start instead of Jason White who clearly was injured and not himself all night long. Thompson saw plenty of action playing in 10 games that year as the backup QB and his athletic mobility might have made the difference against LSU's defense.

In 2004 Auburn paid $500,000 to avoid Bowling Green just like they did to FSU five years earlier.
