I bought an 07 in June, 194,000 miles. It runs like a new van and after 5,000 miles no issues...great van. I am usually alone when I drive, but I like minivans and had to have a Honda once in my lifetime. I have had a few Chrysler Town and Country vans, only one was a bad deal. Worst was a used Astro van. I have had an Aerostar and a Windstar too. The Aerostar was brand new in 1986 and was a sweet ride. My feelings and self-esteem ? Ah, c'mon, man! I just like minivans. I also have had 4 VW Microbuses, a '66, two '68s, and a '69. I like vans! But also I have had like 20 trucks and 90 cars. Yeah, took me 54 years of driving to get all that done.

I'm looking at a 2007 Odyssey for our daughter for $2500. At a dealer I've dealt with before and are pretty good about negotiating. I've had 3 Town and Country vans. all with stow and go seating. I like those because I use the vans as wok horses and like the cargo space while allowing a seat to be pulled from the floor for extra passengers. Usually by myself so not often I need the extra seat. They were all good vans.

I’ve driven and owned everything. High end sports cars to old school vans and trucks. I will say this without hesitation-the 05-07 Odyssey is the best deal in the used market for any vehicle in the entire spectrum. The fact you can get these for 5-6k with 100k miles -if you get a good serviced example with records….it is insane value. They have a great style in this era. People are getting 15-20k for crappy 90s American gas guzzler conversion vans with 200k on them right now. The quality of the engine, interior on EXL touring and features/comfort …..it’s insane they sell for what they do.

I bought a 2007 Honda Odyssey several years ago and still have it. It's as good as can be expected. The air conditioner didn't work when I bought it. I never fixed it. The one sliding door gives me trouble, I just don't use that one. It's 16 years old and has 85 thousand miles on it. I had a new water pump and timing belt put on it so I don't worry about the timing belt breaking because that would ruin my engine. I love the way this van handles and the space. I took the back seats out so I can use the van for hauling things and fishing equipment to go fishing.

Great video composition! Keep up the good work, but no too informative on issues with Odyssey Gen. 3 05-10 and what to look for before buying one. I'll give u a hand on that. 1. 05-07 came with a weak tranny design, Some 07 and all 08-10 came with a more robust tranny. 2. Gen.3 LX and EX doesn't have VCM. While EX-L and Touring cane with VCM. VCM stands for Variable Cylinder Management. VCM if not deactivated with a called "muzzler" tents to destroy ur rings which create a "burn oil issue, + misfires", this is the most important item on the list, check for oil consumption, ******skip if burning oil****** ring replacement is not cheap. As well it chew ur rear mount like a chewable candy. Make sure timing has been replaced at least within a 100k or 10 years time frame. Broken belt on this is a goner. 3. Look for water intrusion thru the roof seams a common problem on these Gen 3, which if not fix can create electrical issues. Usually water leaks are located by the passenger or driver footrest or trunk area. 4. Sliding door rear latching mechanism and door actuator issues. - draining parasite effect. Easy fixes watching KZbin. Broken wire on the sliding door means not maintenance. Lubrication is a must once a year with white lithium grease. Rollers need to be replaced if there movement on the door when open. 5. Spout valve/ VTEC solenoid - leak, alternator 1# killer 6. Record on transmission fluid drain and fill ( a must for transmission longevity) 7. If it has a hitch make sure has a transmission cooler.

Bought a 07 3 years ago and at first it was going to be used for towing a quad but my son end up liking it and I decided to do a fully reconditioning the Van, it had 173,000 miles on it and looked like just about any other Odyssey thats on the Road today with cloudy headlights and some light body damage and dirty inside also only the very minimal maintenance has been done I normally dont buy use cars with this age and miles but the original owner was my girlfriend and its only been to Honda for anything and everything that became a problem, Before starting the Reconditioning i drove it several time from California to Nevada climbing Baker grade to see overall the Condition Of the Engine and Transmission and both did very well along with getting 29MPG on a number of trips back and forth with that information I started the Reconditioning of the Van which Looks New and Rides new inside and out Drove it to Yellowstone with just me and my Girlfriend and the Extra room of a Van Was great for a week and few day trip with Food and clothes and Everything Else, seeing people in there cars over packed and stuff and with limited space reminded me on how much of a good idea the Van was even if i have only one kid also the range on a tank of gas is Excellent the Tank is rated for 21 gallons but once the pump stops i can put in an additional 4 gallons with a total of 25 gallons i have recorded over 680 miles on a tank of gas on the highway dont think you can get that on a SUV you dont have to be a soccer mom to take advantage of this Van and as a man i have to give props where props are Due and the 3rd generation Odyssey is a Good Vehicle.

@@rhpphr11 the timing belt was the first maintenance I did on the van and completely went through it from there taking about 2 years to get it up to my standard as in looks, interior, exterior and reliability, the van is mainly used for road trips or long distance travel so everything has to be on point and given the age and miles a lot of parts where replaced even though they didn't fail yet and glad i did cause it runs really good and just came back from Las Vegas and drove from Cali to Nevada drove around Vegas for a few days and drove back to Cali on a single tank and no mechanical issues, I put 680.0 miles on the tank and got 29.0 MPG and thats a mix of mostly Highway driving with some city driving as well if it was all Highway I could had gotten well over 30 MPG...not bad at all.

Thing is with any vehicle if you don't want to damage your head gasket then ensure that you change your antifreeze every 40 to 50,000 kms or 30,000 miles. Change oil every 5,000 miles, transmission oils every 40,000 miles.. checking all the oils at least once s month is a good idea. By doing this your vehicle will last a very long time without too many headaches.

I thought I was abusive but when I looked to buy a used van they were all damaged in the same way. The door tracks will need to be replaced. It's not hard or expensive.
