Probably not. You need the belt to drive the alternator, and power steering pump.

Always nice see more videos from you man. I know you usually don't respond to questions about random cars, but I'll give it a go anyway. I just did an oil pump and oil sending unit on a 02 silverado 6.0l and the oil pressure is actually worse than before. The only thing I can think of is perhaps I should have changed the o ring on the pickup tube but I didn't. Could that be the culprit?

Worse how? Do you have a check engine light for low pressure? Is the idiot light on at idle? Cannot imagine why the o-ring was not replaced. You take off the pick up tube, and the new oil pump comes with a new o-ring.

@@RustBeltAuto pressure gauge shows 5-10psi at idle. goes up to about 40 if you rev it to about 2k, pretty much stays there if you keep it above 1k. back to idle it goes to about 5-15psi afterwards. new oil pump did not come with a new o-ring. Gonna go back and put in a new o-ring and see what happens

@@codyspear1263 if you were a victim of mine, I would consider that as normal, and leave it alone. These guages are not as accurate as anyone would like either. If it goes too far low, there will be a code for it. You could also consider a higher viscosity (10w30). The pressure should go up more. If the oil is thicker, and the pressure goes down, that could indicate that the seal is leaking (sucking air). The ones that I have replaced that were bad in the past were visibly cracked, and flattened.

@@RustBeltAuto Dropped the oil pan again, luckily its a 2wd so it was quick and easy. Replaced the flattened o-ring and it sits at 50 psi at idle now.

I'm doing a head gasket on the same car and motor need less too say its sucks harmonic balancer tried pulling the crank out with it for example

If the crankshaft comes out with the harmonic balancer, it's going to be broken.
