Did you remove those 4 bolts holding the air pump on while working from the top of the engine?? Or did you have to get under the car to access and remove the shorter bolts? Removing those bolts appears to be the harder part of this job. Please advise. Thanks.

You replaced the air combination valve. The air pump is at a totally different location. Following the black plastic hose will lead you to the air pump. It is usually behind the bumper.

What did you use to clean the sensor? MAF Spray?

My jetta also has the code p2431. Watching your video I noticed that you changed the valve and not the air pump. but your video is very good. clarified some doubts how to replace this valve .. thanks.

That whole part that I replaced is the secondary valve and the air pump. It comes in one assembly. I'm not sure what your exact question is about the valve. I'm assuming that the valve to you is the bottom part and the pump is the top part. With the code P2431 it's more directed towards an electrical issue; the sensor that I pointed out in the video. Not a mechanical issue. The reason I replaced the secondary air pump was because there was a lot of build-up and it was not operating correctly. This customer didn't regualry change the oil. Please let me know if you have questions on how to test the pump. I don't mind giving you instructions. Hope this helped.

Eu realmente preciso entender diretamente como corrigir o código p2431. Eu sou do Brasil e aqui as informações da Volkswagen são muito restritas. Por exemplo, para fazer um teste preciso do sensor, não encontro informações técnicas sobre quantos volts o sensor deve emitir em sua operação adequada quando a bomba de ar estiver funcionando. Sinto muito se tenho um erro de digitação, mas não falo inglês e usei o google tradutor para escrever este texto.

@@diegodefarias P2431, the problem will be with the sensor. The sensor will be difficult to test and get readings. But first disconnect the sensor and test for voltage leading to the wires. If there is power that is good. Replacing the sensor will fix Code P2431. Part# 07C-906-051 genuine volkswagen oem 07c 906 051 manifold absolute pressure sensor

What was used to clean the sensor?? Vw doesnt sell this sensor part anylonger.. Instead they sold me a new pipe with a sensor built onto the pipe. Doesn't even reach both ends where it's needs to be fitted. Any idea where I could just purchase the sensor??

You didn't fool me, you just fooled 18,000 other viewers... Yeah man, I really wish you stop calling that valve a secondary air pump, it's not even a pump, not at all, not even the top part. The whole thing is an electric valve, it has absolutely no pumping action to it. If you follow the black plastic hose you'll end up at the actual air pump... And it also doesn't require 50-80 miles to test that system, it'll run that test within 5 miles or less, depending on your driving techniques. Anyway, I really hope you can respond to your 18k viewers and tell them you were mistaken. Thanks bro

Those Volkswagen clips are the worst. You're supposed to just press back on the clip to release the tab, but i find that using a 90 degree pick and lifting from the front is the best way to remove them without any trouble.
