My Grandad’s best friend had a 2005 DB9 back in 06’ when i was about 8 and it was the first “Supercar” i’d even been around at the time, went out in it and it make me feel sick how fast it was. I've been fortunate enough to drive a 2006 DB9 and I don't know why you'd want anything faster for the road tbh. 0-60 in the late 4's, 0-100 in the mid 10's and a top speed of 186 mph. It's plenty fast enough and is the kind of car that could cruise at 130 mph all day. Was a very special car and sounded amazing. I've got 2 kids so obviously not practical for me as a daily but I'd love one for an occasional Sunday drive. If I could afford one as a toy, I'd just get Apple CarPlay/Android Auto added to it as the Volvo era Sat Nav is horseshit and out of date. The pre-facelift DB9 (2003-2008) and the pre-facelift V8 Vantage (2005-2008) are the 2 most beautiful cars in the last 20 years. The only other car that comes close for me is a pre-facelift Maserati Granturismo with the birdcage alloys.

Not to be a naysayer - it is a lovely car! - but my mechanic, Harris, in Berkeley, California, who works on British and European cars exclusively won't touch these. He tells me parts need to come from the dealer, which means they will and do charge high, unpredictable rates - whatever they feel like charging. A brake service that cost 500. dollars on one occasion costs 1200. the next. His customers were getting angry at him. He just gave up working on them. From what I gather he is not alone.

I think the DB9 was the best-looking car of the 2000's by far! Best start-up sound, too. Been a while since I drove the DB9 and Vantage but I recall being very let down by the auto in the DB9. The manual in the Vantage was far better and made me wish that many more people ordered their DB9 with the stick (Martha Stewart did!).

In my opinion, the DB9 is more beautiful than the current new Aston Martin sports car, and the shape is not so angular. The current car design is really not as good as before. Also, I think the steering wheel and part of the interior design of the DB9 is somewhat similar to that of the Lamborghini Murcielago.
@JeremiBulakowski

This car is the definition of timeless design for me, outside and inside as well (when you put off the navi system and the screen will turn down). And that makes it special, other exotic cars are groundbreaking during the premiere but then after few years feeling old, but Aston designers made something special. That's probably the reason why even if I'm in love with many other exotic cars, DB9 is the only one I'd like to own as a keeper.

Ye I got one, but not to be cheap. It really is an accomplished car. OK the electronics are as reliable as a drunk driver, but ride is superlative. The engine a smooth as double cream on butter, but over 40mph and 4000rpm the exhaust opens and all hell is let loose. The seats are so comfortable. It is so spacious your passengers are in a different postcode. I have an e61 v10 which is like Samurai sword. This v12 is like a police door opener - coming through. Being a much bigger car other drivers seem to get out of the way. It makes for a very relaxing drive. You can really travel huge distances and arrive as if you have only just got in the car. Enjoy!
