This has been the best interaction between two guys fixing a car I have ever seen 😂😂
@tropical63673 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this video if anything it explained some of the frustration I've been going through. I have carried my fan to 3 shops now that have fixed stuff that I don't even understand but it still has a random misfire a code of P0 300. All I keep hearing is this is a tough one to figure out not sure we've got the time to devote in to doing this for you. The Chevrolet dealership charged me $1100. To keep the number 23 fuse from blowing which was part of the problem too but addressed nothing else. The last shop I went to says I think it's pointless to replace spark plugs and spark plug wires they look OK to me. Thank you for at least pointing out the fact that this is a hard to figure. This is my work rand that I depend on every day to make my money and I live in a area that everything seems to take forever to get forever to get serviced. Time is of the essence and it really frustrating when people only want to work on something easy and they take 3 days out of your work day to not fix a thing.

Hey Len, I'm VERY tempted to try one I found for only $57. I know it may not be too fast, but it just might do the trick.

@@OnlineAutoRepairVideos9:15 I seen the engine temperature was 194° so I would think that the heat would close up some of vacuum leak so my question is what made your direction of direction go towards fuel pump instead of like maybe intake manifold gasket or something like that???? Also I have a 08 Chevy Express 6.0 2500 its long term is 24 % when cold and usually drops to zero when it gets hot.. I have p0300 p0174 bank 2 too lean p0157 o2 b2 s2 volts to low?? When I spray brake cleaner on bank 2 STFT GOES INTO NEGATIVES

I have 05" 1500. 256,000 miles on it. Was getting a slightly rough idle. Diagnostic tool threw a PO300 code. I did the vacuum test with starter fluid and no leaks. Changed plugs and wires, (which I changed just 2 years ago) still got the same fault code. Still slightly rough, especially at low speed (under 10mph) or in reverse. Acceleration, even up hill was fine. My scan tool showed random misfires between cylinder 4 and 5. But like you said in the beginning of your video, the misfire is not that bad. I have changed to 92 octane gas and added Sea Foam every few gas tank fulls. This seemed to make the van run/feel "tighter" (less sloppy). Am I okay to still drive my van like this? At a quarter million miles I'm not sure if it's worth doing a complete tear down value job.

Your going to clog your cat-lytic, in which it is probably already bad with 300k miles

If you’re low on money change the filter first may help you get a few psi more and ride it out before changing the fuel pump
@joshuaanthony8416 Жыл бұрын
Good video, in my shop I would’ve performed a fuel volume test and pressure test on the main fuel line just to verify the failing pump before contacting the customer.
@OnlineAutoRepairVideos Жыл бұрын
A fuel pressure test will not detect a failing pump more precise than graphing the pump. You can have good pressure and still have a bad pump, that's why graphing any electrical component is preferred by professional technicians.

Amazing video. I’m having the same issue 2003 Chevrolet express Van. I took it to the dealership but they couldn’t found out what was wrong with it. They mention me that 2 cylinders might be misfiring but didn’t want to mess with it. It works perfect some times then after stopping a couple red lights it start to misfire, running rough, and have a hard time with acceleration. Can that still be the gas pump?
@OnlineAutoRepairVideos5 жыл бұрын
Is that the only code you have?

Fuel pressure tester on fuel rail to rule in/out fuel pump.
@Smith936469 ай бұрын
@@gigostackkfmawi9263 so I have a 08 Chevy Express with p0300 and lean codes on both banks my trims get worse when I accelerate my fuel pressure stays at 58 psi at idle and when I give it gas ?? I changed air filter I have replaced 2 coils I did a vacuum tester and it read about 16-17 on gauge but I plugged it in PCV hose cause I couldn't find any other vacuum hose..I've sprayed brake cleaner on intake but sometimes trims get better sometimes not... usually my trims started at 24% both Bank but as it warms up it gets a little better but still get worse when I accelerate and short term goes up to same % as lomh term

I was JUST on Amazon, and I am looking at a few. I think it would be best to stay away from the ones that hook up to a pc or laptop because the refresh rate would only be as fast as the pc, but the handheld ones (from $60 and up) are self reliant, and should prove faster. I'll be choosing one soon...

Awesome video I have the same van and the same code I rented a fuel pressure gauge from AutoZone and it shows 60 on the gage then a friend put it to a scanner and it's showing the passenger side cylinders are all misfiring but the two main ones were I think four and eight on that same side any suggestions please I'm super stuck lol thanks

Forgot to mention I also checked the heat on both catalytic converters the driver side was at 310°. The passenger side was at 250° I'm not sure if that's a huge difference or not to say it would be that cat with the least amount of heat ?

my van doing exact same thing. can i check the fuel pressure with gauge to see if it's high or low pressure?
@OnlineAutoRepairVideos5 жыл бұрын
Yes
@freddy20647 жыл бұрын
Timmy connecting a fuel pressure gauge to the rail wouldn't have given you a hint the fuel pump is bad? It's obviously more accurate with the scope but just wondering if it would have at least given a hint of failure? I love your channel brother been a follower since the beginning and you guys are a great team. Thanks for educating us.

I have an 01 express van 4.3 with a code p0200, i have replaced the spider fuel injection and i have this code now, which i didnt have before and i replace the injection unit because of a hard start and no start condition with alot of black smoke at start up so i figured with 194k on it, i should just go ahead and replace the spider injection unit, but now this code and the engine runs rough and no other codes, any thoughts, i have 60 psi fuel pressure, fuel pump is new, any thoughts?
@OnlineAutoRepairVideos4 жыл бұрын
You have to go over the fuel injector wires. Maybe one or more got crimped. To solve this problem, you have to back track EVERYTHING you did!
